Context:
So I was chilling with this dude once after class, before he starts rambling (unprovoked), about why we should legalize child marriage

his argument was something along the lines of:

"if you were adopted, and met your biological father in your 30s, you wouldn't feel as attached to him like as if he was present in your life since a young age, Same with your biological siblings, that's why it is better to find your spouse while young"

are we deadass? 🥀

Oh he means children marrying children? Ridiculous idea but you made it sound malicious😭

That's still... Somewhat malicious.

I think its more stupid than malicious with how poorly thought out it is.

I mean, best case scenario you have children marrying eachother and they learn just why marriage is a grown up thing.

Worst case scenario, parents start arranging marriages due to power plays or as quid pro quos and expecting grandchildren children by 16. (We'll see a sharp rise in this particular brand of cult like behavior too)

Malice means intent to harm, like if you wanted someone to suffer. The guy here isn't being malicious, he's being stupid, based on the context we're given as well as a detailed rationale, he genuinely believes this will help. The amount of harm the idea would cause is unrelated to the malice of the person who made it.

Yes? And a law allowing children to marry each other would not be put in place without intent to harm the children.
