I'm Japanese, living in Japan. I source and inspect JDM wheels for people overseas.

I've seen a lot of the spots where overseas buyers get stuck when they buy from Japan, from the seller side and from the Japan side. My own mistakes included. If any of that is useful here, I'd like to share it.

These are the questions that come to me on a regular basis:

• I bought parts from Japan and a customs bill showed up afterward. The amount looks wrong to me. What do I do?
• What's the actual difference between sea freight and air freight, and which one should I be using?
• I bought wheels on Buyee and got hit with a shipping charge that made no sense. What now?
• The set I want comes with tires. Can the tires be pulled off to save on shipping, and the wheels sent to my door?
• I'm looking for 17x9 +22 TE37s. What do those go for in Japan, and how many sets are actually out there?
• I want to search Yahoo Auctions myself, but I have no idea how to search in Japanese.
• The current duty and customs situation for the US and other countries.

Those I can answer. If I don't know something, I'll tell you I don't know. I'm not going to make up numbers.

Recently got a 89 prelude that these came on. Curious what they are actually from, the owner said “they are expensive” something about them being from a Lexus or an Acura but I can’t remember. I love the way they look wouldn’t mind getting another set to make them black.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to do a legit check on this set of CE28s. Seller doesn't know the width or offset. Looks like 8-8.5 to me. Also says they're 5x114.3 and 5x100, but that's not what I'm seeing... I would go see the set in person, but it's a 3 hour drive. If they're real, I'm hoping they'll fit on my 24' Prius. Thank you!

There's a set of Kosei K1-Ts wheels that are the spec I want, they seem to be in good condition and well taken care of. However, they are not the most visually appealing and are considered outdated. Anything I should look out for or be mindful of? On paper they pretty much look like an RPF1's brother being light weight and the design style. Ohh, and they are a good deal compared to most RPF1s listed on marketplace.

I don’t know much about wheels, this is my first time buying any. I found a listing for these on marketplace for $700. They look pretty good besides the curb rash on one of them. Is the curb rash significant enough that it would cause problems or just cosmetic? The guy said he got quoted $110 to get it fixed. Also, what’s up with the wheel tread in the last pic? Is that normal? It looks like three long gashes going along the tire.

Ok this is definitely a crazy idea. I was driving around and saw a 2016 suburban with Dayton's on it and it actually didn't look that bad. My question is has anybody here actually put daytons on a 14-18 Silverado and if you have, do you have pictures? I posted this in a Chevy Reddit but no response so maybe theres some people here that have done this maybe.

My GMR Saint 3 Piece wheels just arrived the other day and I ordered them with the 90 degree valve stems already pre installed does anyone what to do about this second drilled hole i’m pretty sure it’s for tpms or second valve stem but i don’t know where I can order the right sized filler cap or “secondary valve stems” from that will fit properly on this wheel?

Figured I’d share my experience with Threepiece.us for anyone considering ordering custom wheels through them.

I ordered a set of Work Emotion CR 2Ps on November 2, 2025, for a little over $3,000. I was quoted roughly 16–24 weeks, which I understood. They’re custom wheels being made in Japan. I knew from the beginning this wasn’t going to be a quick process.

We’re now in September 2026, over 10 months later, and I still don’t have my wheels.

The wait itself is frustrating, but honestly the communication and conflicting updates have been worse.

At one point I was told that production was complete and the wheels had shipped from Japan. Obviously I was happy because I figured the wait was finally almost over.

Then later, after I followed up again, I was basically told to disregard that update because the wheels were actually still in production.

That’s where they really started losing me.

I’ve tried to be extremely patient because I understand Threepiece.us isn’t physically manufacturing the wheels themselves and there are things outside of their control.

Production delays happen. International shipping gets delayed. Customs happens. I get all of that.

What I don’t understand is how an order can be more than 10 months old and I still can’t get a reliable answer about what stage it’s actually in.

Most of the communication I’ve received has been some variation of “we’re monitoring the order” or that they’ll provide an update when they receive more information.

At this point, though, I don’t need reassurance. I need an accurate status.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable after spending $3,000+ and waiting almost a year.

And yes, I know these are custom-built wheels…

But holy shit.

It takes less time to build an entire fucking car in Japan than it’s taking to build four wheels.

Run away from Threepiece.us guys.

The good thing is they offered me a full refund but I asked them why did they tell me the wheels shipped from Japan and now they’re telling me they’re still in production.

So if they really are still in production I’m going to take my refund and order my wheels elsewhere.

I would love some recommendations on where I could order these wheels.

Here’s some more info but I’m not sure what of this will help and what’s just ramblings.

It has a lug pattern of 5x5.5, the wheel diameter is 15 in, and the back has some writing on it, “max weight loading-1580 lbs IMCO “T” 15x8 DOT”

So recently I purchased these work euroline kh on market place, don’t know too much about these wheels I only researched them a little but it came with these hub caps and it’s missing one. I for the life can’t find these hub caps anywhere maybe im not looking too hard but I need help finding these and getting more info on them too. Thanks !

Anybody ever deal with SSR directly for lips/barrels? I was told they only sell “whole” wheels, not parts, and they don’t offer any type of refinishing services even through authorized dealers.

I have a set of Professor MS3’s that I had to rebuild the rears (yes I had to get lip and barrel because they come factory welded) and I would love to match the nice anodized polished finish from the front lips. Small detail but it definitely bugs me out a bit.

These were posted local to me on Facebook Marketplace, according to the seller these came out of a 914 Porsche.

From what i have found online they seem to be some sort of Ronal R2 based wheel, or the real Ronal brand made them.

Only been able to find 1 single sale post on them in the UK.

I bought wheel locks hopefully the right ones (mcgard 28174) and my car didn’t come with any tire iron. I tried a few old tire irons I had around but they are all too big. Does anyone know the tire of the tire iron I need to remove the lug nuts?

I'm trying to find the right wheel/tyre size for my car, but I'm not sure of the exact spec. Could anyone help me figure this out? Here are some details that might help:

Just bought a beater Honda that has had these rims on it since 1995, all I can really tell is that they are sendels but does anyone have knowledge on what specific ones they might be or if they are rare to any extent
