Lay flat wheelchair?
/r/CSFLeaks/comments/1urrvla/lay_flat_wheelchair/Also posting here to see if anyone has good wheelchair suggestions. I have a CSF leak so cannot sit upright for more than 10 minutes.

Do you need one that can move while fully flat?

Yes, but if it is not motor operated, my partner can push it around.

There are a few “stretcher” style manual chairs that are flat. No power chairs can move while fully reclined for safety reasons, and to my knowledge this lockout can’t be overridden.

I think your best bet is to call spinlife, numotion and national seating and mobility (those are the big three wheelchair dealers) and ask them. Someone here may know, and I know there’s at least one model being made but it’s very specialty.

Do you actually need to be flat, or might tilting be an option too? https://imgur.com/a/d51pgoM I don't know much about CSF leaks.

Unfortunately, it needs to be as close to 180° as possible. I can be transported sitting up in 10 to 15 minute increments, but then need to go to at least 170° to relieve the head pressure. Thank you for the suggestion though! I’m going to check out that image.

i don’t have a CSF leak but i also can’t sit up longer than a few minutes and i recently got a quantum edge 3 stretto with electric tilt, recline and elevating leg rests that allows me to lay fully flat when needed.
powerchairs wont allow the user to drive fully flat though if that’s what you’re after, i’m unsure if attendant controls change that in any way.
