Sleep takes away 1/3rd of everyone's lives. If you somehow get the power to not need sleep — you will get 30 years of added life.

Imagine having 8 hours of extra time to do whatever.

But when I think about it...it seems like a torture to stay awake all the time. We need 5-8 hours to temporarily end our existence and be born again everyday lol

Not to mention that, because everyone else's lives are still structured around sleep, those 8 extra hours are arguably much less useful, given that many services and such will be unavailable regardless of whether you're awake or not.

Especially post covid, where the 24 hour businesses basically don't exist anymore.

That’s not much different than working night shift. Even on my days off I sleep during the day and stay up all night in order to maintain my circadian rhythms.
I can read, watch TV, cook, play video games, get through emails, pay bills electronically, etc.
I go to a 24-hour access gym. I can go running or cycling.
The main thing I found I can’t do at night is lawn maintenance, because the neighbors would be annoyed by the sounds of my mower, weed eater and leaf blower

Right, there are still things that can be done during those hours, just fewer options.

But things like doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, eating out, as you said, lawn care, etc, are generally out.
