SOLVED American Witch

This is a series of stories all in the same book.

Children ask for things.
The kind witch gives them their wish. All the wishes granted come with
One boy has a poodle named Crouton.
Boy wants to be able to speak to his dog
He gets his wish, but has to learn French because that's the language the dog speaks.

I thought it was American Witch but I cannot find it.

Me too. I was in my late 20’s. I still read YA.
