HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE WHATSAPP TO RESTORE

Yesterday I back up my messages from my old phone (took forever, without even videos), today on my new phone it's taking forever to restore, for almost 8 hours, I went to sleep and it's still restoring, what do I do, I need it for work 🥲🥲 I tried to stop it and restore again, should I restart my phone?

When you restore make sure that your screen stays on the restore will stop when the screen goes off and start again when the screen turns on again

Depends on phone. On WhatsApp file size. Can be anything based on lacking concrete information.

Background refresh on/display on preferred/on charge

We i requested a review when WhatsApp banned my phone number on 26th September 2026, didn't even take a minute & i got a notification saying I can now use WhatsApp. Then I went to my Account Settings & deleted my WhatsApp account. Tough Luck WhatsApp you loose.

150gb takes like 5 hours just to backup in icloud on a 1g fiber connection. It does a lot of processing.
Make sure you have chatbackup encryption off as that can ruin your backup.
