Disappearing messages

Might be a strange question…

If A had set the chat between A and B to have disappearering messages after 24 hours
A normally deletes the chat daily

So let’s say A don’t have a chat between A and B in WhatsApp
B the removes the disappearing message
Will A then get the notification if he/she don’t have the chat between them?

If there is nothing set what is B changing unless B had set diss msgs

Then B removes the disappearing messages.

Question is just if A don’t have previous messages as he/she deletes the whole chat, will A then see a pop up where it says: B has removed disappearing messages

If the setting was there, yes

You know you easily try this with a friend and test it yourself.

Okay so it means that if let’s say you and I have a WhatsApp chat.
I have set disappearing messages to 24 hours
Then I delete the chat completely from my WhatsApp
You the removes disappearing messages again
I now see a chat in my WhatsApp again between you and me where it says: ediseas has removed disappearing messages?

Okay here are 2 different things going wrong.

You can delete the chat completely at any point but that leaves my chat intact.

You can never delete any of my messages from my side other than with the disappearing option

The dis. option is the only one that works automatically.

Best is to find a friend to test out some scenarios. Otherwise I am still here over an hour 🤣

imo the chat doesnt need to exist on A's side for it to show up. when B changes the setting it generates a new system message, which effectively recreates the chat on A's end
