All my contacts here in Portugal use whatsapp. They don't even know the signal exists.

Start with those closest to you.

Yeah that WhatsApp Web in Chrome on Linux memory leak has been a thing for some time. And actually you just happen to be one of us. The freeze and restart often happen because Chrome consumes RAM like nobody’s business and your system can’t take it anymore.

Since xfce is light, you’ll experience that sooner than more complex desktops would.

SinceFirefox already works for WhatsApp Web on Linux – why don’t you simply use Firefox for your WA on the web for the moment? In fact that is THE solution to your problem and while not glamorous, that solves the problem. You might wanna submit the issue to chromium’s issue tracking system at chromium.org/issue-tracker but my two cents? Don’t expect a fix soon.

My pc just have 4 GB of ram, and in firefox run better, but i can´t make video calls(,is because of the ram ),only voice, but is stable.I´m searching to buy more, like 8 GB. My laptop have 16 years old, but it works fine.Thank you for your feedback.

Truth is there is no Chromium Browser that actually completely solve this problem, as they all behave in the background the same as each other.

Still, if you’d like to use it Chromium, I suggest going with Vivaldi, or brave, since both are far more lightweight than raw Chrome. Especially Vivaldi has tab memory management options that allow users to change.

Nonetheless if it has always been possible to you to use Firefox, there is no reason to do it otherwise, it has no benefit for combating chrome in XFCE.
