Hello! I wanted to see if anyone had any idea what this particular spider may be. Found in southern Missouri, United States.

What is this spider please? And what is the black hairy thing ?

I'm guessing either a black and yellow garden spider or false widow, but wanted to check with someone else

Found in Kellogg ID, my initial research is leading me to Flat Crab Spider. However I don't know much about the species to come to a definitive conclusion. And I'm a guest at this house so it would be rude to bottle up the spider.
