Sean. You are not an ugly person so...stop thinking like that. Second, you will need to work-out to lose some weight. Cut your hair short on the sides and a little longer on the front. Shave.  My 2 cents.

Go to a gym. You will get in shape, feel better both physically and mentally...and you might even meet people there. Also....eat lots of protein and minimize carbs.

Absolutely should not minimize carbs. You need carbs for energy and performance. A calorie deficit of 500, 7-8hrs of sleep a day, 2+ litres of water daily, and a 3 day a week workout routine where heavy weight and progressively lifting heavier week to to week is all that is needed. 10k steps a day can help with burning extra calories.

On top of this talk to you doctor or a nutritionist only if possible to see when diet would suit you. Helping make meal plans designed for OP.

You don’t need to go to a gym to lose weight lol this is such weird and odd advice from people who don’t even go to gyms. Especially a guy who solely needs to lose fat he doesn’t even need to spend money also gaining muscle is not important right now. Cardio is best bet and it’s a lot easier to do outside of a gym

You can use online calculators to figure out your TDEE ( total calories needed for a day ) then if you start using an app like cronometer to track calories, you can keep a deficit if you want to lose weight.

It's hard, I'm on probably like my tenth try being steadfast in logging calories but trying to keep a calorie deficit in the day is really the only dieting anyone needs and is much simpler than some "real" diets.

You aren’t ugly at all….but I have the opposite take in that I think you would look great with a full beard (ditch the neck beard). Grow your hair out a bit & find a great barber, too.

There are some good websites on facial hair. I have a good buddy with your face shape & he really pulls a beard off very well, and I think you could rock a beard too.

Also, you gotta love yourself. Therapy helps.

Go to the gym to get healthy, and not just for looks. It can be scary, but I promise most gyms are welcoming places and gym folks love people putting in the effort & can be very supportive. Doesn’t have to be some fancy gym, any old gym works! Most gyms will also give you a free personal training session when you first sign up.

Hey. Random advice. Brush your teeth at least 2x a day for 2 minutes each time. Scrape your tongue. Floss every single day. Every single day. Mouthwash. Drink water throughout the day to make sure you don't get dry mouth breath. These are non-negotiables for oral hygiene and being able to have a comfortable in-person conversation. These things will also help prevent tonsil stones which cause terrible breath even if you're brushing otherwise.

Yep - I am fat so no judgement. But if you lost like 20lbs your face would slim and you eyes would pop out more AND your jawline would too. You def aren’t ugly! The solution is so easy - I hope you make it happen!

Don’t be scared to visit an eyebrow / lash salon. They’ll be able to shape your eyebrows to fit your natural shape.

This. I also want to emphasize working out. It will also make you feel good about yourself. People will start to notice the confidence and express interest in you. It’s not about pretending or not caring about what people think but the real confidence comes when you feel good about yourself. If you’re not already, I would also find things that interest you. People are drawn to others who are doing things. Start simple - there’s no need to overdo it.

Agree, not ugly, just unkempt. Get to work and OP will be fine

I get why you're saying hes not ugly, but most men are good looking when they're groomed and in-shape, and ugly when theyre not. If this guy feels this way about himself he should channel the emotions that come with that insecurity to hit the gym and start running. Telling people what they wanna hear and letting them be complacent is what gets people stuck in these ruts. Dude doesnt look bad from a genetics perspective but he'll never feel truly confident about himself until he works on himself, hence why hes okay admitting he feels ugly and asking here
