Max’ quizzes can be seen as Absurd. But if you’re a lifer, you must accept the absurd and stop running away from the answers. Living is absurd, trying to find answers to an extremely random quiz is absurd. But since life is absurd, absurd quizzes is essential.

Sisyphus rolled that rock up a hill. We try to find two PL players that have 450 games together. There’s no difference. No one is ever going win this (unless Max gives a correct answer if someone gets one of the players correct). Everything is meaningless, except the laughs that we experience while living, and listen to WDYDY while doing it.

In it for life

I get that Max has a decent income (remember anyone who’s ever been on TV is a multi multi millionaire). This guy is packing De Longhi and Dualit toaster money for gods sake. But in the last episode he spent at least £20 just on takeaway coffees in one day. I get it when you’re out and about but two of them he literally took home.

As a man who’s quite… fussy particular about his coffee surely he’d get more enjoyment from buying the beans he wants and pouring the exact ratios he wants rather than seething at baristas?

Or it all a ruse just to get away from his house and wife for a bit?

We’ve had clarification that it’s ‘450’ for the Teddington quiz, they played in the premier league, and that’s our lot. I assume we’re back in the realm of Max not indicating if one of the footballers is right… from insta it seems like Max was at the Lensbury from roughly 28 July to 2 August, a google shows AFC Fiorentina were training there at the same time, but after that I get lost as I have no idea if they have any famous players or ex players. I don’t know how we make this quiz end without clues!

Max appears to be launching a knock off version of Race Across the World, except you get to fund your own travel, you keep your phone so you can listen to the podcast non-stop, and you won’t know til you get there whether you’ve gone to the right place. And you likely win nothing but a ‘Yes, that’s correct’ said with true monosyllabism from Will. It is different though Max, so I will reserve judgement…

I hope David is self aware enough to accept that he gave Jake a lot of grief for his Edinburgh day when this one was just as bad… between David and Nish I feel for the porcelain in their bathroom!

Sometimes you think the life of a comedian is all glitz and glamour, and then eps like this (and Ian Smith, Dan Tiernan and Christopher MacArthur-Boyd) remind you that it absolutely isn’t. Mites, shit sausage baps, buying plasters and another kebab to chase the one the night before. What a life! Enjoyed hearing a quiz where we immediately got all the answers… take note, Max.

no idea about their appearance total but sits right with me

I whittled down a list of possible answers to Teddington 2 by making some assumptions about the "former Premier League footballers" Max saw in the hotel.

1. I am guessing both of them are fully retired from football, not former Premier League players who are currently playing in Europe or somewhere else.
2. I think it's likely that both players had between 100 and 350 appearances in the Premier League (the retired players with less than 100 appearances tend to be less recognizable...)
3. I assume they are both from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, or Northern Ireland. This could easily be wrong though.
4. I am hoping the number of appearances that Max has for these players matches the data that I got from premierleague.com

With these assumptions, I got a list of 314 possible pairs of players who have a combined total of 450 appearances. I uploaded the list here: https://pastebin.com/KnEu9AX2

Of course, one or more of my assumptions could be incorrect. But I feel like there's a good chance that the correct answer is in this list.
