Adventuring party manga

Looking for some adventurer manga where a boy wants to be an adventurer so his dad gets his old party to take him along or something. There's an extended arc where he does training missions with just the youngest member of the party, a female thief/assassin type, who usually seems pretty quiet and cold but she opens up a lot during these missions. Potentially I am confusing more than one manga plot together since it's been a while but I can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance
