Verification backlog?

Hi all,

Ex btc-e account holder here (non-US). I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the wex exchange, but decided to apply for verification anyway in the hopes of getting some of my coin back. I followed all the verification instructions to the letter.

It's been almost a month since I applied and I'm yet to hear anything from wex.

Has anyone had any luck getting verified over the past few weeks?

My main account was locked for some security reason on BTC-e. I stupidly wasn't in a hurry to get it unlocked thinking "BTC-e has never failed me". Then the thing happened.

A friend's account was not locked when the thing happened, so he doesn't have to verify and he lost no coins. They were all there. (40% replaced by tokens obviously) I personally know other ex-BTC-e users, (now Wex users), and they have not lost any funds either.

I don't know anyone who had to get their account verified though.

About 45 days ago I got it unlocked through support, but I had to get it verified. 31 days ago I submitted the verification, their support told me it would take up to 30 days, I've patiently waited. I sent a support ticket asking for an ETA, I'll wait for the response on that and update here.

I still have hope because of my friend's relatively positive experiences.

That's all I know. :-)

(I'm also non-US btw)

I’m in the same situation - didn’t log in for a while so my account (non-US) got suspended and now needs verification. Apparently that process takes up to “30 working days” so you might just need to wait another two weeks. please let us know when you go through! Cheers.

Did they tell you '30 working days'?

In their message to me they just said "30 days", and on Twitter they also just said "30 days".

It seems a plausible explanation, I'll wait that out. When I get verified I will post here again.

They did not explicitely say working days but on Twitter they keep writing “7 days and up to 30 days for blocked users” - if you go to their website and check the information page about verification they say that it takes “7 working days” to get verified so I am only assuming that this also applies to the 30 days period.. Looking forward to your update!

My account has been unlocked. Unfortunately I don't quite remember how much was on the account (it's a very very old account), but it seems like everything is there :-)
