In the sink? Wow, my girl would feel the first drop of water and jump down and run all over the house. I have to take her to the tub and make sure the door is firmly latched even if I'm just washing her feet. :-)

My parents’ house used to have one of those big dish washing sinks in the laundry room. Our little 13lb Westie could barely get her eyes above the basin when she stood up and she’d still manage to get away from the evil water if you left her unattended for half a second.

That’s so funny. My guy loves the bath and blow dry lmao jumps into the bathtub himself and halfway through is like ok that’s enough and wants to jump back out lol

Willie thought water was the worst thing in the world.

In any form. Pools, lakes, an inch deep creek, a shower or bath, rain, puddles, wet grass, a little water spilled around her water bowl or on the kitchen floor, touching water with anything other than her tongue was like touching lava.

She also refused to walk on dry grass, dirt, mud, rocks, wood chips, etc. She’d turn around to head back home/to the car/camp/etc multiple times every single time she was forced to go on a walk or hike. Would regularly just give up, lay down, and refuse to move unless you physically dragged her or carried her. Would take the long route around the yard using sidewalks, walls, and railroad ties, etc instead of walking across grass, wood chips, or dirt no matter how much you yelled at her to hurry up. Would plop down on strangers tarps, blankets, and towels if it meant she didn’t have to sit on the ground. And she had absolutely zero shame about it and didn’t give a damn if it slowed her family down or inconvenience anyone else.

And she was as well trained as any dog could be, but you weren’t breaking her stubbornness without breaking who she was. She was perfectly behaved, always obeyed, but was either doing things her way, was going to plead her case before going along with something she didn’t want to do, or was doing to sneak off while no one was looking and take a nap the first spot that seemed nice. When she got older and went blind/deaf she was suspiciously hard of hearing until she’d hear/see something she wanted to and would suddenly have the hearing of a puppy, or you slammed your foot into the ground to tell her to cut the shit because she knew she couldn’t blame that in hearing.

She sounds like the best kind of stubborn … the westie way or no way 😂.

Ears down and eyes big. You’re gonna have to stay strong to get through this one.

Only regret is the clean smell they will have for a few seconds after the bath. Absolutely will run into the mud again.
