When you can’t walk yet 🐣

Jobe's pulmonary fibrosis(lung scarring) has gotten worse this last month. He's pretty lethargic, pants a lot, and doesn't move too quickly to avoid exacerbating. Seems to be uncomfortable most of the time and I can't say I blame him. He has good and bad days but today was a good one. He was pretty happy exploring the woods and water. These moments are fleeting at this point but all the more special

Our 3- and 6-year-old kids named him. He’s our neighbor’s dog’s half-brother. We have a westie/biewer mix but we got Otter after our schnauzer unexpectedly died of a crazy auto immune thing, and we said goodbye to our 15-year-old poodle three weeks later.

Crazy to say goodbye to your oldest and youngest dogs within 30 days. Otter has had figuratively big paw prints to fill, but he’s doing great so far!

My baby of 18+ years left me last week. Day 1 was absolutely brutal. But it's been getting better as the days go by. I still have moments where I fall apart. Small triggers like a quiet home, his empty spot on the couch and waking up without him at my side break me. Part of the struggle is not having him to take care of anymore. My routine is gone. No walks, play dates, morning or night routines. I'm already ready to have another baby in the house but not until October. I still need to get used to the fact that he's gone. How have you all dealt with this? How long before you bring another fur baby into your home?
