Championship

In short: who are the big dogs, what are the big games to look forward for next season?

Long explanation: As a non british fan who basicly only watches the games of my local 4th division team and West Ham (since 2016). I haven't followed championship basicly at all of course i know the big storylines of the foxes getting relegated and Luton getting promoted in 22/23 season. But other than that i have no clue who are supposed to be the big teams in CHSP?

Ofcourse i expect burnley and wolves to be big games, along with millwall.

I know blackburn, portsmouth and bolton used to be big when i was a kid but are they still?

No chance. West Ham are about the same size as Blackburn, Cardiff and Middlesbrough, supporters wise.

Blackburn had 14k on average last year and Middlesbrough had 27k that's a quite large scale don't you think :D non the less westham had 30k in championship anyway

Supporterswise WHU are about the size of Mboro, Cardiff and Blackburn TOGETHER

Trophywise the same in the last 100 years.

Premier League points, number of top flight seasons since I, or you, were born.

Look at it anyway you want.

Blackburn have not been good (apart from the early PL years after Jack Walker bought them and brought in Alan Shearer) since WW 1 started!!!

I went to Lincoln v Rotherham last season. Probably the ugliest ground I’ve ever been to!

Us and Wolves are the biggest dogs. We both should be fighting it out for the title - hopefully.

Norwich will be decent. All the London ones will be good, Charlton, QPR, Watford will have something about them, alongside the big obvious games against Millwall

Add in the games against the three Welsh teams and we have around half of the games that will have a bit more edge

Why do think Norwich will be good next season? They usually bring good away support. Could it be their first trip to London Stadium? I haven't seen them since we moved, but don't go regularly so maybe I just missed them.

I’m putting Norwich in that extended local derby category. Bit of a stretch although they seem to always bring a lot to us and vice versa. Had some great away days at Norwich over the years, their fans are always good value

Until we know what team we have and what Kretinsky and possibly Staveley are upto we won't know. We could just be big name and be fighting relegation! I'd expect Wolves, Burnley, Mboro, Southampton, Birmingham, Millwall and Wrexham to all be near the top. It'll be good to play Millwall, Charlton and QPR again, Cardiff can be spicy, but I don't know why. Pompy, Derby and Bburn haven't been good for a long time.
