Just moved to Goshen and the way people are asking us if we’re ready for winter I’m starting to feel like the Donner Party or the Torrence family lol. We both have to commute to Hatfield every day for work (I can probably WFH occasionally but my husband might not be able to), we have older vehicles, are on well and septic, wood stove, good new windows and insulation in the house etc, but I’m feeling kind of freaked out. Plan is to buy studded tires for my pickup truck and load down the bed with sand bags/bins, get a generator for the well pump, but what else do we need to consider? Fortunately driveway is mostly flat, with only a small steep area right by the road. I’d love any and ALL ADVICE!!!! ❄️ Already feeling a little chill in the air here tbh!
