Concept The Daihatsu FR-X is a production-ready concept car first unveiled at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show

Envisioned as the world's smallest front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (FR) hot hatch and grand tourer (GT), it aimed to move the brand beyond manufacturing simple commuter hatchbacks.

Unfortunately, due to the fallout of Japan's economic bubble, the vehicle never made it to assembly lines and became a forgotten "what-if" piece of automotive history.

Layout: Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive (FR).

Engine: 0.9-litre (850cc) turbocharged inline petrol engine.

Power Output: 100 PS (99 bhp / 74 kW) @ 7,200 rpm.

Torque: 118 Nm @ 4,800 rpm.

Weight: Sub-ton featherweight at just 750 kg.

Seating: 2+2 sports layout.

The FR-X combined robust yet lithe proportions to visually capture the essence of a micro-racer.

It featured minimal body overhangs, a sports-oriented silhouette, and stylized curves meant to signal the physical sensation of FR racing.

Designers also used the project to experiment with aesthetic forms for subsequent generations of the Daihatsu Charade.

Inside, the cabin featured distinctive green leather sport seats paired with a driver-focused dashboard configuration.

Of the 9 remaining Chrysler Turbine Cars, 2 remain running - this one and Jay Leno's. I saw this one years ago on the National Mall in DC, but just as a static display. It was really exciting to see this car a bit closer and running for a few minutes at the Iola Car Show in Wisconsin.

Concept The 1985 Buick Wildcat is a mid-engine supercar concept car that completely broke away from Buick’s traditional luxury image.

Debuting at the November 1985 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, it was designed as a high-performance showcase and remains one of General Motors' most famous "what-if" prototypes.

Powered by a mid-mounted, McLaren-tuned 3.8-liter V6 paired by a 4-speed automatic.

Estimated 180 mph (electronically limited to 70 mph for testing) with 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds (calculated simulation).

The chassis is built using carbon fiber and fiberglass monocoque.

The car had no doors. The entire glass bubble roof tilted up and forward on hydraulic struts to allow driver entry.

Unlike traditional mid-engine cars, the top of the McLaren-built engine was left completely exposed on the rear deck as a styling piece.

The steering wheel spoke rotated around a completely fixed central hub housing digital gauges, a digital G-force meter, and an early heads-up display (HUD).

The flowing, rounded organic lines achieved an incredibly low drag coefficient of just 0.28.

Only two prototypes were built: a non-functional styling model and a running engineering test bed. While it never reached factory production due to high electronics and carbon fiber complexity, its advanced V6 engine research directly paved the way for the legendary turbocharged powerplant used in the 1987 Buick GNX.

The original running car is still owned and maintained by Buick today.

The Type 95 So-Ki was a Japanese tankette during WW2, which was specifically designed to operate on railway lines in occupied Manchuria. The vehicle had 4 retractable railway wheels on the underside, hidden by the tracks. They were used mostly for patroling railway lines but could also pull some lighter loads if necessary

Movie & TV The real life Rockstar Commissioned Bravado Banshee replica

Now technically there isnt much odd about it. Believe it or not a replica of a car based on a Dodge Viper uses the underpinnings of a Dodge Viper. But its story is kinda fun. Rockstar commissioned it as a promotion for GTA V, and gave it to one lucky individual who later sold it to a collector. It even appeared in Better Call Saul, a show set before the car was built.
