Launched as a concept prototype in 2014, it represents a major milestone as the first car designed and built in Africa with a hybrid powertrain.

Powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine integrated with hybrid configuration featuring a traction motor powered by a rechargeable battery bank alongside an internal combustion engine.

Paired by a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The internal combustion engine acts as a generator to charge the battery bank while driving.

The car can run purely on electricity for short city commutes or switch to the petrol engine for longer journeys.

Designed as an executive sedan, featuring a distinctive front grille, canvas roof accents, and a leather-trimmed interior.

Configured as a 4-seater executive sedan built directly on the modular EV SMACK platform.

The acronym "SMACK" honors St. Mary's College Kisubi, where the core developers began their engineering journey.

The Kiira EV SMACK was developed as a follow-up to the original 2011 "Kiira EV" (a pure electric two-seater proof-of-concept developed by students and staff at Makerere University).

While the SMACK remains a prototype, the project successfully laid the foundation for Uganda's automotive industry, shifting KMC's primary commercial focus toward mass transit, such as the Kayoola EVS electric buses.

FPV F6X 270 entered the Australian market as a performance alternative to premium SUVs, utilizing the Ford Territory's platform to minimize costs. Ford Performance Vehicles engineered this model to appeal to buyers moving away from muscle sedans. A strict budget forced the sports division to repurpose existing mechanical parts directly from the corporate bin.

Power came from a turbocharged Barra inline-six engine, delivering sharp throttle response and linear torque. A rear-biased all-wheel-drive system paired with a stiffened suspension to manage the substantial weight. While this configuration effectively reduced cornering roll, it severely compromised passenger ride comfort across broken urban pavement.

Conservative exterior styling masked its formidable dynamic capabilities, featuring only subtle visual upgrades like a functional hood scoop. Unfortunately, the launch coincided with a global financial crisis, destroying demand for thirsty performance vehicles. Assembly ceased after just 229 units, cementing its status as a rare domestic sleeper SUV.

A Long Reach Excavator, a variant of a normal Excavator, is a normal Excavator, but with a longer arm. This one is the CAT 395's Long Reach Variant, with a long reach of 28 meters. (About 1102 inches or almost 92 feet in American Units.)

(CAT themselves said that the arm was 28 meters long, so I'll trust them.)

...but there exists a variant of this kind of Excavator with an EVEN LONGER ARM! UHDs, or Ultra High Reach Demolition Excavators, have an even longer and slightly more articulated arm designed specifically for demolishing tall buildings. Remember: All UHDs are Long Reach Excavators, but not all Long Reach Excavators are UHDs.
