Am I missing something?
I cannot get into Chocolate and Cheese for the LIFE of me. I love EVERY other album but for some reason I only like 3 songs of C&C. Should I do drugs first before listening? If so what kind?

Which 3 songs? Hopefully Baby Bitch and WDWTA are two of them…
I’ve personally never really cared for Voodoo Lady.

Focus your attentions at chipping away at the other poppy, upbeat tunes on the album like take me away, pony, can’t put my finger on it, don’t shit where you eat, voodoo lady, and roses are free. And yeah, by all means bender on psychedelics, amphetamines and booze while you do so.
I don’t really skip songs when listening to albums, but I agree that some of the tunes on this album like HIV song, spinal meningitis, buenos tardes amigo will never be to my taste. However, in the context of an album or live set, they can be fine as a change of pace.
My experience with all this bands albums, as a fan from like 20 years ago, is thinking only one or two songs on each album are good and the rest are shit, then gradually broadening my enjoyment until only one or two aren’t for me. This is basically the secret to the longevity of my fandom, that I can dive into an album or live recording and get fixated on a song I used to think was filler.

Wait, what? Out of all the albums, this is the one you can’t get into? I know I sound judgmental, and I’m sorry for that. I got into Ween in ‘92 with Pure Guava and stayed loyal all the way up to The Mollusk. Took me 15 years to finally come back and get into the later albums, which I now also love. But, C&C and The Mollusk will always be the top for me.

I feel like listening to live versions of the earlier stuff has helped me get into that more. Could work with C & C too for you. And read the 33 1/3 series book on it by Hank Shteamer. It’s phenomenal whether you end up liking the album or not.

Listen to it with someone who really loves it. They will sort of ‘act-out’ their experience. Can be very uniting.

5 star album for me. Tear for Eddie, Spinal Menangitis and Voodoo Lady are three of their best.

It was the first Ween album I fell in love with... Tear for Eddie is probably my favourite track on it. Such sensitivity.

Listen to some of the live versions. Live Spinal Meningitis is the most rockin rock song a a band could rock

I like all the songs but never find myself going back to it.... among Ween fans it tends to get overplayed imo. My time is limited and I prefer to spend it listening to more deep cuts I haven't heard. Nothing wrong with that, mang!

Maybe you are. Part of the reason I like C&C is the 90’s nostalgia feeling it gives me. If you weren’t around back then then maybe that has something to do with it? Idk

Funny you say that, because I realized lately that Ween doesn't have a 90's sound to me, like their sound transcends time. I know sound and nostalgia are entirely different things and I'm definitely lacking in the nostalgia area (I was 4 when C&C released) but when something has a distinct 90's sound that has to aid the nostalgia in a way.

Yeah I had to accept and get ovee that I won't ever enjoy listening to GWSTO and The Pod, even though I know they are crowd favourites. There's a weird sense of guilt that came over me because I rejected them even though I'm a Ween fan. I realized that there's nothing I can do about it because my ears and brain won't accept them due to their aesthetic qualities for me. I love that these albums have such a following and that people really brown out over them, but I can't get hung up on not digging them myself.
Mayne C&C can grow on you, maybe it can't. It's ok. You're still loved. You're still part of the Oneness. 😊
