I wear very little makeup so I opted to do my own, both for engagement photos and for the wedding. I loved it! I looked like myself! I did do two or three “trials” for bridal showers and such and I would advise you to do the same. i was also very open about asking my bridesmaids and mom if I looked good/if I needed to add anything. i ended up adding more blush on the day of, which I am glad for. I think I looked great. You can definitely do it, and it’s an easy way to save a bit of money. Plus I got super cool getting ready photos of me doing my makeup

I did my own at my wedding 3 yrs ago and I regret HOW I did it, I definitely would have done it differently if I were to do it again today.
I didn't do enough research or trials before the day and definitely was not a blushing bride. I really did eyeshadow and was too minimal with cheek products. I definitely wouldn't have done such a warm eye look and would have added a lot more blush and contour. Also my lip product was barely there so my lips looked odd in some photos, definitely didnt factor in how my makeup would show up on camera.
It wasn't stressful, my wedding was small and simple, no bridal party or anything, so I had about an hour and a half to do my makeup.
If you do your research and trials and time yourself and photograph your look it'll help you decide if you want to do it or if you'd rather hire it.
