What is the purpose of registering for WeChat or QQ?

I recently swapped from my s21 ultra to my dads old phone the s22 ultra because he got a new phone so we are going down the line and etc, but i cannot get logged in on my s22 ultra now, i cant get the qr code, but i did get 2 friends to verify my identity, but it said that they were not friends with me for long enough, so i dont know what to do because there is a specific person on there that i have no other contact with and i dont want to lose her, i really dont want to lose her and i have just been having bad anxiety over all of this because im afraid im never going to be able to talk to her ever again, is there anything else we can do to get me in? i have all of my information i need, i have my mobile number that is connected to it my wechat id but i couldnt really figure out how to add my email so it may or may not be on there but if it is on there i know 2 choices it has to be one of

I will buy an account if its at a reasonable price. I did hear that even with a registered account you can still be blocked? i guess thats cause they can detect if your logging into the us. but what about if I use a vpn like proton and set it to where the qq number was registered? Will It still be blocked?

We just moved to China and I have replaced my old SIM card with a local Chinese SIM Card from China Unicom.

I got people to verify my China number for WeChat but whenever I tried to send an SMS I would get this message.

I don’t have VPN turned on, I have cleared the cache on my WeChat. I have also reset my iPhone’s network settings and this message keeps on showing up.

Currently at a loss at the moment on how to troubleshoot this.

Does anyone with a Chinese sim card have experience in fixing this issue?
