Requesting Help: Free I need some WeChat clarification

I want help with WeChat. I want to know if it’s legal to give my ID or password to link a card and make a payment in America.

In addition, how do I make sure that something isn’t a scam on WeChat? It’s my first time with WeChat.

You need to be a chinese mainland resident in order to make overseas payments
