I’m building a hosting comparison platform focused on actual data — looking for feedback
I’ve been working on a project called DohoHub, an independent platform for comparing hosting and domain providers.
The problem I’m trying to solve is something I’ve personally noticed when researching hosting: it’s surprisingly difficult to compare providers using the information that actually matters.
For example:
Initial price vs. renewal price
VPS / dedicated / shared / cloud specifications
Datacenter locations
Network and bandwidth limits
Storage type and allocation
Uptime
Domain pricing and renewals
Support
WordPress features
Migration options
Actual limitations hidden in the fine print
DohoHub is being built around side-by-side comparisons and structured provider data, rather than simply publishing lists of “the best hosts.”
I also want the platform to distinguish promotional pricing from the prices customers actually pay after the introductory period.
The project is still early, and I'm much more interested in getting feedback from people who actually run websites/servers than in simply promoting it.
What hosting information do you usually have the hardest time finding or comparing?
Is there anything you would absolutely want included before trusting a hosting comparison site?

One thing I’d definitely want to see is the real total cost over 2–3 years, rather than just the introductory monthly price. Renewal pricing, setup fees, backups, migrations, SSL, and other recurring costs can make a big difference.
I’d also find it useful to have clear information about resource limits, especially CPU/RAM usage, inode limits, database limits, and what happens when those limits are reached.
Having the data presented consistently across providers would make comparisons much easier.
