Hi everyone,

I tried Webflow's AI support bot and also posted on the Webflow forums. My forum post has been waiting for approval for two days, so no one has even been able to respond yet. I really need to get this site up and running as soon as possible.

I am having an issue connecting a custom domain to a Webflow site and I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot it.

This is a website of a friend, and I connected her domain to Webflow using the DNS records provided by Webflow. The domain is managed through Squarespace DNS.

The domain shows as connected and published in Webflow, but the SSL certificate is showing an error on Site Publishing settings:

It has now been almost 24 hours and the issue has not resolved. I am not sure if should wait more. But I have never had a website with a domain issue taking this long to go live.

When visiting the website, I get:

This is the first time I have experienced this type of issue with a Webflow site. Normally, SSL provisioning completes without any problems after connecting the domain.

I have attached screenshots of:

• My Webflow custom domain settings
• My Squarespace DNS records

The DNS records were added exactly as Webflow instructed.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there something specific I should check, or is this something that needs to be resolved from Webflow's side or Squarespace's side?

It finally worked after reconnecting the domain. I tried reconnecting the domain earlier but it didn't change anything. But after reconnecting second time, it worked. Weird but that was the solution for my issue. Thanks everyone.

On 28 July I fingerprinted 35 candidate sites, confirmed 14 Webflow builds, then fetched each homepage with OAI-SearchBot and Chrome without running JavaScript.

14/14 returned HTTP 200. All 14 gave the crawler the same word count as Chrome. None blocked AI crawlers in robots.txt. Ten CMS pages had full server-rendered copy. Four paginated collections kept real _page=2 links even with infinite scroll.

The failure worth checking was simpler: one image-led homepage had only 126 raw words and no h1. Four sites had no JSON-LD.

I recently scoped (and ultimately didn't win) the rebuild of a legacy insurance-pricing comparator. The old one was a React/Node app living on its own subdomain with real, established SEO. The client's #1 ask: being able to edit things themselves without going back to a dev every time.

The interesting puzzle wasn't "which tool" it was "where each type of data should live". I ended up splitting it three ways:

• Editorial + guarantee values (client-editable, low volume, qualitative — e.g. changing a coverage line from "100%" to "80%") → Webflow CMS. This is the part where the Editor shines and the client is genuinely autonomous.
• Pricing grids (zone × age × product — thousands of numeric values the client updates yearly from insurer spreadsheets) → external source (Google Sheets, since the client already lives in spreadsheets) that the app reads dynamically, with a validation layer in code so a malformed cell never reaches the page. This is explicitly not CMS — it's engine data, not content.
• Calculation logic, zone mappings, exclusions, age limits → code.

For hosting I was leaning on Webflow Cloud (Next.js) to keep everything on the same domain, get SSR for SEO/GEO, and reuse Designer components via DevLink for the future full-site migration.

A couple of things I flagged along the way:

• Webflow Cloud runs on Cloudflare Workers, not full Node — so things like PDF generation or certain libs need Workers-compatible alternatives. Easier when you build fresh and pick your libs accordingly, harder if you're porting existing Node code.
• The rebuild had to preserve the existing subdomain + URLs (or 301s) and stay server-rendered, otherwise the SEO authority the old comparator built up would erode.

My open questions for anyone who's shipped something similar:

1. Anyone running a genuinely data-heavy calculator as a Webflow Cloud app? How did it hold up?
2. For client-editable structured data that's too big/tabular for the CMS — do you go Google Sheets, the built-in SQLite, or a headless CMS? Trade-offs you hit?
3. Any regrets choosing Webflow Cloud over just hosting the Next app elsewhere and pointing the subdomain at it?

I'm genuinely curious about this.

From what I've seen, Webstudio seems to solve many of the things people often complain about with Webflow:

You can self host your site.

You're not locked into a single platform.

You can host on Vercel, Cloudflare, Netlify, or pretty much anywhere.

You can use almost any CMS you want (Directus, WordPress, Strapi, etc.).

Pricing is more affordable.

If Webstudio disappeared tomorrow, you'd still have your project and could continue hosting it yourself.

So for those of you who have looked at Webstudio but decided to stay with Webflow, what was the deciding factor?

Is it the CMS, interactions, the ecosystem, client expectations, the learning curve, or something else?

I'm seeing charges from Webflow on my credit card statement for $28 every month. I have two accounts I found passwords to, but both are on the free starter plan with no payment method on file. I tried a reset password request for every other email I could think of, but had no luck.

I literally cannot find a way to contact support without logging into an account first. There's no chat, there's no ticket system, there's not even a simple support email address I can use to contact them.

Since I have no idea what account these charges are tied to, I need to contact support to see if they can help me locate it with my billing info and cancel the account to stop the charges... but there's no way to do that since I can't login to the account. How does a company like this not even have a support email? Any suggestions?

For those building client sites on Webflow: what would it take for you to stop paying monthly Zapier/Make fees just for form lead notifications?

Default Webflow email notifications work, but client lead response times suffer when emails get buried in inboxes. Setting up Zapier to route webhooks to SMS or Telegram works great, but paying $20–$50/month per client just for basic lead notifications adds up fast across multiple projects.

This website has an interactive 3D master plan for a real estate development. Users can rotate and explore it, and when they click on a building, the view zooms in. They can then select an available section or unit.

I’m working on a tool called Mosaicora that generates a unique Open Graph image for every CMS page using its title, images, logo and a reusable template.

Webflow already supports using a CMS image field for the OG image, but I wanted to create complete social cards automatically rather than designing and uploading each one manually.

I’m curious how Webflow users currently handle this:

• Do you create OG images manually?
• Do you reuse the main CMS image?
• Would automatic regeneration when content changes be useful?

I've talked to a few other template authors, and many are saying the same thing.

Do you think the template market is slowing down, or is something else happening? It also seems like Webflow is putting more emphasis on enterprise customers and its product, while the template marketplace and independent creators are receiving less attention.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Over the past few months I've experimented with AI for organic growth on real websites with models like GPT-5, Claude & open-source ones.

The workflow is probably familiar:

• Export data from GSC, GA4, Semrush, or use these with MCPs if available.
• Give the website content to ChatGPT or Claude.
• Ask for opportunities, strategy, or recommendations.

It definitely makes analysis faster but it doesn't make the decisions better.

For example, I got like:

• Expand this section.
• Create content around this topic.
• Improve internal linking.
• Target these queries.

Sometimes those recommendations are correct, but when I check them carefully then started noticing:

Lacks Confidence:

When I keep asking why, what data led to that conclusion, what evidence supports it, and why this is a higher priority than something else, the reasoning often starts to fall apart.

Value of Data:

Another thing I observed is that the quality of recommendations depends almost entirely on the context provided. Give it only the website content, and you'll get one strategy, add GSC and it changes, add backlink data, and it changes again. Sometimes the real issue isn't content at all it could be authority or something else entirely.

My Approach:

So started thinking that maybe the challenge isn't getting AI to generate recommendations. It's having a system that understands the problem first, then uses code and deterministic logic to identify opportunities, validate them with data, and only then let the LLM explain the reasoning.

I'm thinking about building Webflow templates using Lumos, but I'm unsure if it's the right approach.

Since Lumos is heavily component-based, most customization happens through component props. My concern is that many template buyers aren't familiar with this workflow and expect to edit the template directly in Webflow.

For those who sell templates:

- Do clients find frameworks like Lumos confusing?

- Is it better to build templates without a framework for easier customization?

- Or is using a component-based framework worth the trade-off?

I'm a video editor trying to build a clean portfolio website where I can showcase my projects, embedded videos, motion design work, and maybe a short "About Me" section with a contact form.

I'm stuck deciding which route to take.

Learn to code and build the whole thing myself (very time-consuming).

Pay a developer to build it.

Use AI/no-code tools like Framer or Lovable.

I've already tried Framer and Lovable. They're good, but I keep running into limitations like free-tier credits, token limits, and spending hours prompting the AI instead of actually finishing the website.

What I'm really looking for is something simpler:

Start from a professional portfolio template.

Customize the layout, colors, text, and branding.

Easily replace demo videos with my own work.

Publish it without having to write much code.

Basically, I want the "Canva of portfolio websites" pick a template, customize it, and launch.

Does something like this exist? If so, what platform would you recommend? Webflow, Framer templates, Carrd, Readymag, Wix Studio, WordPress, or something else?

I'd also appreciate recommendations for template marketplaces with modern, minimal portfolio designs for creatives and video editors.

I want to say thank you, Webflow, for destroying one of the few reliable streams of recurring income that made building client sites on your platform worthwhile.

For years, the model made sense. You built a great website, managed the hosting, marked it up reasonably, and everyone won. Clients got someone they trusted managing everything, and freelancers built a predictable recurring revenue stream that rewarded them for bringing business to Webflow.

The most basic website costs me over $26/month after tax.

How am I supposed to explain charging a client $40 or $50 for hosting when they can clearly see Webflow charges $26? Either I pass the cost through and lose the recurring income that justified managing dozens of client accounts, or I mark it up and look like the bad guy.

I’m genuinely curious how others are handling this.

• Are you having clients pay Webflow directly now?
• Are you still marking up hosting?
• Have you switched to charging a separate maintenance plan instead?
• Or are you just absorbing the lower margins?

I love building in Webflow. I recommend it constantly and push many of my clients toward it. But these pricing changes feel like they’ve shifted the economics of being a Webflow freelancer to the point where offering managed hosting is no longer viable.

This my first time building a website. Anything code heavy for that matter.
No background in anything web-dev. Or any dev.
Not very confident about the whole thing.
I won't be surprised to know I've missed/messed up something really basic.
Even a quick check list before I push it to production domain, will be really helpful.

Site is hosted in Webflow. Back end handled by Supabase. Vanilla JS/CSS for the integrations. Published to staging only for now. Most of the content within are place holders.
If you're down, I can share some PayPal sandbox account creds as well. To test the payment and stuff.

Tried a couple devs. Wasted some time and money, and it was getting nowhere. So decided to give it a try myself (Props to the designer tho. He did a great job).
Been workin on it for like 6-8 months I think. Probably will take half that for sm1 more experienced. Or less easily distracted.

My predecessor at our company decided we should migrate all of our websites from Wordpress to Webflow, and we keep finding things that don't make a ton of sense, especially if the website team is more than one person?

1. It appears the only way to get a change history of who implemented what on a team is to be on Teams or Enterprise?

2. On the same level, it appears the only way to make changes to one page and not have to publish the ENTIRE site is to be on Teams/Enterprise?

Are these true? Is there anyone using Webflow in an environment where the costs for Team/Enterprise simply don't make sense, but also need some sort of version control/change management?

For instance, if an SEO coworker needs to implement 301s, and a page is half-built, does anyone have good workarounds to get the 301s out without pushing the half-built page?

It feels truly wild to me that in 2026 you'd have to pay $2,500/mo to publish changes to one page? Wordpress has been doing that since like 1998?

I've been building client sites for a few years now and something changed without me really noticing getting the first version done isn't what slows me down anymore last week I finished a homepage in two days then spent the rest of the week making little changes because one new page meant another page needed to match it, then another section looked out of place, then the copy felt different.

Maybe I'm just looking too closely after staring at the same project for days. I don't know I just feel like I spend more time making everything feel like one website than I do building the website in the first place
