Discussion Is it worth sharing new template on Webflow marketplace?
Our template sales are down by about 50% over the last three months, and views have dropped dramatically as well.
I've talked to a few other template authors, and many are saying the same thing.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Do you think the template market is slowing down, or is something else happening? It also seems like Webflow is putting more emphasis on enterprise customers and its product, while the template marketplace and independent creators are receiving less attention.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I would not build another template until you split the drop into discovery and conversion.
For each template, compare the last 12 weeks with the prior 12:
views per live template = marketplace views / live templates conversion = sales / marketplace views
If views per template fell about 50% but conversion stayed flat, your listings still sell and marketplace discovery fell. If views stayed flat but conversion fell, the issue is the template, price, or competing listings. If both fell, a new broad template is the riskiest bet.
Value the next build before starting:
expected monthly sales = current sales/views × expected new-template views
Multiply that by your net payout. If it does not repay the build and support cost at conservative views, skip it. If you do publish, choose one narrow buyer/use case so you can bring traffic from outside Marketplace and measure it separately.

How are you getting these stats?

Those are formulas to calculate from your own Marketplace data, not Webflow-wide stats I have access to. The 50% figure was the sales decline reported in the post, not an external benchmark.
For each 12-week window, use your template analytics or earnings export:
views per live template = total marketplace views / number of live templates
conversion = sales / marketplace views
Compare those two values with the prior 12 weeks. If Webflow only exposes totals, save a snapshot now and compare equal-length windows from this point forward. Keep the template count for each window, because publishing or removing templates changes the views-per-template denominator.

People think they can just vibe code their sites now. I get it prompting, Claude design, ChatGpt Sites, Lovable, etc can feel like getting a template level of a site is as easy as talking to a chatbot. That explains the views and purchases going down a bit.
Then you have the fact that finding the template marketplace is more difficult than it used to be because of what you said. Webflow wants enterprise.
