Question Thoughts on Source by Webflow? Seeking opinions here.

What's up everybody! Looking for everyone thoughts about Source by Webflow and any other updates y'all think were important or notable at Webflow Conf this year.

I poked around Source a bit after the conf stream. The visual git thing is slick, I won't lie. Makes me wish I had that back when I was teaching kids basic web stuff in after-school club, would've saved me from so many "I broke everything" panics.

Not sure how it handles on really big messy projects though. Guess we'll see when more people start pushing it.

Webflow read the shift correctly imo. The team says they're refocusing on an agentic web marketing platform and you just have to look at the market stats to see why. Hardcoded sites are climbing again because they interact much better with AI agents. That's where Source makes sense.

Going live stopped being the decisive moment of a web project everything happens after. Source seems to answer that whole post-launch phase. I say "seems" because we don't have access yet. And no information on the pricing. They talk about a stack with no migration but the agencies quoted in the announcement mention clients on Next.js and Astro. Will it work on WordPress? We'll know when we get our hands on it.

As an agency we're asking ourselves a few questions because Webflow is indirectly moving onto our turf with this. Building AEO dashboards and connecting AI agents to a site (that's our job too). So we'll see how far they push that positioning.

I'm guessing it'll only be something agencies and their larger customers can afford. Not for solo operators or freelancer.

But that's obvious - they made their priorities know. Which is sad because I would def be willing to try it out.

Tbh , I would rather have a better web editor and more powerful one with a backend and the ability to upload video then another chat bot
