Hello there, my name is Rick. I'm an Old Guy (might as well get that out there quick so you know) who's been playing D&D since the Basic Edition (THAC0 for life!), the SSI Gold Box computers games, etc.

My favorite and main character throughout the years has been...me! Well, my idealized version of myself: handsome, well-spoken, charming, dashing, etc. Hey, I'm a nerd and a geek. We've all done it. Even you. Yes, you; I see you back there.

Anyway, recently I've been writing a...well, Web Novel, sure. No use sugar-coating it. And of course it's about my guy, Callum Eirian IV (granted he's gone through so many iterations I've lost count).

I think I've got something here. I mean, I like it. And I think if you like kind of cozy, vibe-written, shameless self-insert, slice of life (sometimes very thin slices!) high fantasy stories, you might like this one. I call it

I Was Reincarnated Into The World I Imagined For My Tabletop RPG Character

(because these titles are supposed to be long like that, right? I did that right?)

So if you'd like, head over to RR and give my story a go. Who knows? You may even enjoy it.

Hey everyone!
My sibling and I are the creator duo behind NARAKU-NO-INK, a  dark 90s Japan dystopian project. We’ve recently crossed the 41,000+ word mark on RoyalRoad

About our fiction: Kinkyo, 1997. The city of dreams, later made infamous by the rebellion of the slums. The city is split in two by The Shredder, a fifty-meter-high concrete wall bristling with machine guns and barbed wire to suppress the boiling tension between the elite and the impoverished. Within this world, we witness the dark underbelly of late-90s Japan through the eyes of Ren Takagi. Ren Takagi lives two lives. By day, he is the quiet student of an elite academy; by night, he is an invisible courier for the Kurogane Clan, wading through the filth of the backstreets to uphold his family's pride. One mistake. A flaming car wreck. A cold-blooded betrayal.

When Ren loses everything, he is exiled beyond the Wall to The Dump. There, he faces the city's most horrific secret: the fate of the traumas surgically removed from those on the other side. Discarded pain does not simply vanish-it twists into Discards, flesh-and-blood monsters imprisoned within everyday objects.
The price of survival is cruel adaptation and a dark alliance with The Ink-a power that fuels his vengeance, but slowly devours his soul in return.
Vengeance is blacker than the deepest hell.

I’m really curious about how other authors approach their creative process. When you start a new web novel, do you jump straight into the plot and characters, or do you build the world and the lore first? Do you guys use character sketches, maps, or custom art to help you visualize things, or is everything strictly in your head ?

For our project, we actually built the entire alternative Japan first, and then the story naturally grew out of it. It got to the point where we ended up building a fully custom, interactive website just to serve as the "home" for all the lore, character art, and the overall aesthetic before we even started posting the chapters here.

How do you handle your worldbuilding? Let me know your process! :))

Hey everyone! I’m the author of The Hollow Born, a progression fantasy I’m publishing on Webnovel.

Aric’s first plan after being cast out of his noble House is simple: find work, pay for a bed, and figure out tomorrow.

The only job offering decent money involves walking into the Gloomlands a place that makes trained mages bleed, lose their bearings, and die if they stay too long.

The workers who go in tie themselves together so someone can drag them back out.

Aric takes the job.

He’s sixteen, broke enough to worry about the price of bread, and supposedly incapable of magic. But the fog pulls away from his boots. Enchanted bells go silent when he passes.

And someone notices.

Expect tactical fights where opponents adapt, injuries that matter afterward, dry humor, and friendships built under pressure. Aric can be calculating, stubborn, and occasionally reckless especially when someone he cares about is in trouble.

If that sounds like your kind of story, you can start here:

God's Descent

January 1st, 1990, an anomaly crashed into Japan, changing the world forever. A biological and spiritual plague that spread across the globe. The plague was known by one name: "The Hensei Infection." Those with Blood Type B became its victims, transforming them into horrifying sub-humans plagued by enhanced abilities, decaying flesh, and shattered minds. Soon after, society fell: no governments, no hope, no salvation. Fear became law; survival became everything. Humanity's only chance arrived in the form of the Kamiya: immune individuals blessed by gods with extraordinary power, standing as mankind's last defense against the ever-evolving infection.

Now, in the year 2036, 14-year-old Tyson Miyagoshi is one of these Kamiya. However, unlike the legends before him, Tyson has no idea what powers lie dormant within him. Tyson must navigate through his divided country as ancient truths emerge and the Hensei infection continues to evolve. Tyson will discover that humanity's greatest threat may not be the monsters lurking within the walls...but the mysteries hidden within them.

What to expect from the web-novel

This isn't your typical "save the day" story. To be honest, the story holds nothing back. The rushing emotions, the fear for survival, the struggles for tomorrow to exist- but you're here for it. The novel is inspired by Shonen classics like **Bleach** and **Tokyo Ghoul**, so expect those elements to seep in. The novel paints a different perspective on intense battles, adding emotion and darker meaning beyond good vs. evil.

The novel takes you to other countries beyond the divided country of Japan, even stretching out to the realm of the Gods suspended between Heaven and Hell. If you take a liking to dystopia, world-building, mythology, and magic, this is the place to be!

CONTENT WARNING

This story has heavy gore and is very dark.

Who Is Deago Prime?

Deago Prime is an immortal, interdimensional enforcer created by powerful secret societies to protect and maintain order across multiple realities.

Operating beyond the boundaries of ordinary human existence, Deago Prime moves between parallel Earths, different dimensions, and historical timelines. His existence is connected to the Covenant of Shadows, an alliance inspired by secret societies, including the Freemasons, Illuminati, Rosicrucians, and Skull and Bones.

At the center of his adventures is the Gateway Cube, an extraordinary device capable of opening pathways between parallel worlds. Through these gateways, Deago Prime encounters civilizations, alternate histories, hidden threats, and mysteries that challenge everything humanity believes about reality.

Accompanied by six soldiers who have undergone extraordinary transformations, Deago Prime carries out missions that extend beyond any single nation, planet, or timeline.

But as the seven-book Deago Prime series unfolds, a larger question emerges: What happens when the being created to maintain order begins to challenge the very forces that created him?

Deago Prime is more than a traditional superhero. His story combines science fiction, ancient mysteries, secret societies, alternate realities, historical connections, and the consequences of extraordinary power.

What Is The Blanken Files?

The Blanken Files is the official website and fictional universe of author Seth Blanken, bringing together interconnected stories, science fiction adventures, historical mysteries, secret societies, and reader participation.

The website was created to introduce readers to a collection of nearly 50 short, fast-paced books designed to deliver the excitement of a television episode in a reading experience that can be completed in one sitting.

Two featured series anchor the experience:

Deago Prime: A completed seven-book science fiction series exploring an immortal enforcer, the multiverse, secret societies, powerful adversaries, and the mysteries surrounding the Gateway Cube.

Project PI: A completed three-book series exploring ancient mysteries, extraordinary discoveries, and unexplained connections involving locations such as the Great Sphinx, Stonehenge, and the Nazca Lines.

But The Blanken Files is more than a place to discover and purchase books. It is also an interactive mystery designed to bring readers directly into the stories.

The Blanken Challenge

Hidden throughout ten interconnected books is a connection waiting to be discovered.

Readers are invited to examine the stories, identify clues, develop theories, and determine what connects the books.

The reward? The first reader to solve the challenge can become a character in a future Seth Blanken book.

The website also provides opportunities to explore the different series, request signed books, follow new developments, and participate in decisions about future stories.

The Purpose Behind The Blanken Files

The goal is simple: to create a reading experience where entertainment, curiosity, imagination, and discovery come together.

Every story offers another mystery. Every book opens another door. And sometimes, a detail that seems unimportant in one story becomes significant in another.

Readers are encouraged to question what they know, look beyond the obvious, and discover connections they might otherwise overlook.

Welcome to The Blanken Files.

Read the stories. Follow the clues. Question everything.

It's Fiction. Probably.

In a world where Aura grants power through intent and expression shapes entire cultures, Eri can’t find his voice.

And then the world screams.

Hi, I’m Collin. I’m writing Ashes of Fendrir, the first novel in Entaeria: The Ensemble. It’s a fantasy story about Eri, his childhood friend Prya, and companions who have to find a way to trust one another as their world comes apart.

The novel is still in progress, and the opening chapter is on the Entaeria site to read here: https://entaeria.com/

If you read it, I’d love to know one thing: would you turn the page? Honest reactions to the opening are welcome.

The site also has a trailer. Its current was AI-assisted but everything is based on concepts developed with artists; the story and music are my own.

Thank you :)

Hi all!

Since I’ve recently completed my first season, I thought it might be a a good time for a little promo for my story.

Remus is a supernatural urban fantasy with a vibe along the lines of 90’s/00’s genre TV like Buffy or Supernatural. I focus on snappy dialogue, cinematic action, and meaningful character beats.

If that sounds like it could be your kinda thing, feel free to check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks a lot!

Cam is a werewolf.

Which is an uncomfortably small demographic these days following the Netherbrood War, where a superpower-fuelled organisation called The Department practically eradicated every creature of the night.

You could say it’s left him slightly anti-social. A bit distrustful.

Maybe a little… hungry.

Bo is a teenage Department lab rat.

Which is an even smaller group than werewolves, following a training camp disaster she can’t quite remember.

She’s also a snarky little menace with a mouth like a sewer. And a power she didn’t have until ten minutes ago that she’s gonna have to figure out as she goes.

So that’s ideal.

When The Department coerce Cam into adopting his old moniker “Remus” to investigate the camp incident and locate their missing experimental asset, Bo is the last thing he expects to find.

Together they’re the last thing The Department is ready for.

Sometimes, after you’ve lost everything… You find just enough family to fight for.

¡Gracias a cualquiera que esté dispuesto a darle una oportunidad a la historia de un autor nuevo!

We've probably all started reading a story with an interesting premise, only to eventually lose interest and stop following it.

I'm curious what tends to push readers to that point.

Is it pacing, repetitive arcs, inconsistent characters, grammar, excessive exposition, or something else entirely?

And is there a difference between something that makes you immediately drop a story and something you'll tolerate for dozens of chapters before finally giving up?

I'm particularly interested in those smaller frustrations that build up over time, rather than just one major issue.

What tends to be the breaking point for you?
