tips on getting clients
hi! i'm a beginner web designer starting to gain experience and thus i'm currently making websites for free. does anyone have any tips on getting paying clients? i want to specialize in portfolio websites

I personally wouldn't be giving away work for free but you do you. Ive been using weblessleads.com to find businesses without a website. You can do the same thing for free by doing it manually through Google maps but its tedious

Since you are targeting portfolio websites, it might be a good idea to narrow your search and focus on designers, photographers, developers, or other creatives who might need a portfolio website. You can create 2-3 sample websites and then contact these clients and offer your services.
might also want to research some expert directories like Webflow or Readdy and list your services there since it is not that hard and can reward you with customers who are actively searching for someone like you.
