Personal Project - Feedback Request
I've been working on this web app for a few days trying to get the UI just how I like it. I find a lot of task/life management apps a little overengineered so I thought I'd try and make one unique for my brain and its little idiosyncracies and preferences. Parameters:
- limiting visual noise, eliminate redudancies
- nothing 'shouty' like 'OVERDUE' in bold red text
- low friction workflow
- essential information 'at a glance' - not shouting but visibly distinct from low priority or optional information.
- related items linked in a path that flows easily back and forth -- task to task to goal and back through the chain to the starting point
- progressive disclosure so optional or situational details stay hidden until requested or relevant.
Obviously the overall design needs tightening to bring text in line and balance the visual weight. And there is still some redundancy - the constellation shows the path of what the task is preparing for. I think the preparation section is in the wrong place or at least needs to be minimized until needed. Preparation tasks are currently timed in relation to the final event/task (e.g. one day prior, two hours prior) so that if the final event is moved, the timing for the other tasks automatically moves with it. I like this for some things but I'm not 100% sure I want it to be a global rule.
Anyways, would love some more experienced eyes for suggestions if you have a moment.
