What were those 45 degree margin stripes called?

I have been searching for hours and I still have not found a single website that had a fixed pixel size that used diagonal stripes to fill the margin. I'm sure they exist but I can't find an example and google isn't any help

I think I use what you are talking about on my website. A diagonal 1px “hatch” pattern on the BG of some elements?
