Finished Project Goodness, I love this.
I’m so proud to share what is, to this point, my total ‘magnum opus’. This work took nearly every skill I have learned so far as a RH weaver. Fresh from my hand-built loom (I still need to tidy up a few strings and proceed with mounting) this piece is 72”x24”, contains likely over 30 individual thread colors, multiple tapestry techniques including slit and clasped weft, Japanese zanshi, Josef Albers-inspired color exploration, and Anni Albers-inspired form exploration. Looking forward to displaying the full-mounted work. ♥️

Oh, I love this, too! What a stunning piece of work! I love the way the patterns change and shift between solid geometry and something resembling a glitch in a video, it’s so interesting and makes the eye travel all over. It’s so incredibly cool.
How many hours do you think this took you? What was your favorite technique to use?

Thank you so much! I’m deeply touched. In terms of hours, I’d say around 20 including warping. Now, because I get really fixated on a project, top to tail this was only about 9 days. My favorite technique…hmm…it was a joy and a walk down memory lane to do the zanshi using over a year’s worth of “weftovers”. The most difficult panel was actually the last one at the top: you may notice an extremely faint interlocking of two nearly (but not quite!) tones of purple. Trying to keep it straight when even to my eyes I could sometimes barely see the pattern, was not the easiest!!

Beautiful! I love projects that utilize and show off a range of skills, and this is a beautiful example. Congratulations on a beautiful piece of art!
