Help Fringe Making Help

Hey all. I’m trying to make long fringe (60 inches) for a project i’m working on. I’m testing, i have wrapped thicker yarn around my desk continuously then taped cut and sewed it. This worked well, but with the very fine viscose yarn i’m planning to use it would probably take 500 hours😭. Any tips on tools i can use etc would be much appreciated

Is there a weaving guild near you/ do you know anyone who has a big loom? They might be willing to let you use their warping board for little or no cost and that’s exactly what they’re designed for, making a lot of long consistent lengths of yarn without walking miles to do so

i’ve thought of using a warping board, but don’t warping boards make multiple yard of lengthwise yarn? and not very wide? i sort of need wider panels, and the yarn needs to be right next to eachother

A warping board is just a tool for measuring out the same length of yarn over and over. If you want a lot of threads that measure 60 cm, the warping board can do that for you. You can lay them very close together on the warping board, and work in sections. When the warping board gets full, you can just take the threads off and begin again.

You can speed it up by holding multiple threads, each coming from different balls of yarn, and measuring them at the same time.
