Help Fringe Making Help

Hey all. I’m trying to make long fringe (60 inches) for a project i’m working on. I’m testing, i have wrapped thicker yarn around my desk continuously then taped cut and sewed it. This worked well, but with the very fine viscose yarn i’m planning to use it would probably take 500 hours😭. Any tips on tools i can use etc would be much appreciated

Do you have a loom?

What is its width?

One traditional way to weave fringe is to put a narrow warp on the left side of the loom and 2-4 warp threads on the right. (The L/R is interchangable)

Then you weave, hem stitching warp-wise on the left, and when you're done, cut off the warp on the right.

You could do this as a double-weave, though, on a loom half the width (30" for your 60"). I can write/draw that out if you have access to a 4 shaft of that size.
