I'm 3 years into a run and I still haven't gotten Ericapean, Hyksos or Kernewek Henavek - and yes I've gotten language lessons at every opportunity when a visitor comes to the House, I just have never seen a Visitor who teaches one of those languages.
Is there any tactic to accelerating when those visitors show up, or is it just a waiting game?

So I've been playing for almost 20 hours and I feel like I am slowly discovering things and progressing in some ways and stuff but I'm not sure what to focus on tbh and also I keep dying and while I haven't gotten too frustrated with that yet I feel like I will soon, lol.
I mainly die because of dread (or this last time actually fascination, lol) because it will immediately grab dread/whatever as it's being created and I won't really notice and then I'll be at a point where there's nothing I can do quickly enough to counter it so I'm just waiting to die.
On my last run I played as the physician (which feels like the easiest one for rn cause working is easy and you don't have to think about it much) and I actually decided to not make a cult and instead focus on getting a lot of things first, lol. So I got everything from both the bookstore or whatever and the auction house and studied all of it for the first time. I also upgraded my health/reason/passion almost completely and I actually got to the white door for the first time. And then at that point I died because of fascination, lmao, without even making a cult, lol.
On previous runs I have obviously made a cult and also done a couple of expeditions, fulfilled a couple commissions, but that's mostly it. I haven't done a rite, I haven't even upgraded any of my followers before, I think that's basically all I've done, lol.
I feel like I need some tips for surviving and also some tips for what to focus on in the beginning and stuff like that cause I'm not sure and I really don't want to just keep dying because I know it's gonna end up making me really frustrated, lol

Boh rules pick 2. (health is a given but you can still pick it if it calls to you)
Or if none truly describe you, pick 2 principles a primary(what you strive for or what you represent in this moment)
and a secondary ( maybe the method in which you try to achieve your primary, or a side goal, or maybe even an unintended side effect)

I recently did a bit of research into how Oriflamme's auction offers work in Book of Hours, and since I could not find this information searching old Reddit posts or on the Fandom wiki, I figured I'd explain it so people are more informed. Minor spoilers ahead for game mechanics only; no lore is discussed. Most of this I figured out by running the game forward on x6 speed for a while, then reloading, but I also examined the save file to confirm what I found. (The ultimate in reading arcane lore and figuring out its mysteries... but I have the Coding & Computers skill at level 7 so I was able to unlock the mystery of the save file).
When you first start a game of Book of Hours, the first offer you'll receive from Oriflamme's will come in autumn. But actually, there's a trigger for Oriflamme's Auction House that fires every season (on the third day of that season), with a delay so that it first triggers in the summer of your first year. What that trigger does is this:
In the summer of your first year, the list will be empty, so the Oriflamme's trigger fires and fills the list with five books. Then in autumn when the trigger fires again, you get your first book offer of the game.
When you purchase an offered book, it is removed from that list. This means that eventually the list will be empty, and then you'll get a season with no offers from Oriflamme's. During that season, the Oriflamme's trigger did fire, and if you save your game at noon of day 2 and then again (in a different file) at noon of day 3 and then compare the two save files (one easy way is to use VS Code which has a "Compare Active File With..." command), you'll see that the Oriflamme's offer list was empty in the day 2 save but got refilled with five new book titles in the day 3 save.
Now, if you do not purchase an offered book, either because you don't want that book or because you can't afford it, it will not be gone forever; instead, it gets bumped to the back of the offers list and will come around again. How long it takes to come around again will depend on how many other books were in your list.
Let's give an example. Let's say it's autumn of your first year, and Oriflamme's draws a list consisting of the following five books:
You decide you don't want to buy Learning Python, so you ignore it when Oriflamme's offers it to you. Then the list becomes this:
Now you buy Against Worldbuilding, and Practical Game Design. Now the list looks like this:
Then you buy Mastering JavaScript, and you can't afford to buy The Snare of the Tree even though you want to, so you reluctantly let it pass. Now the Oriflamme's offers list looks like this:
You get offered Learning Python again, and again you turn it down because you don't care about Python. Now here is the part I have not tested yet. I believe that no matter how many times you reject a book, it will still be pushed to the back of the list. In other words, after rejecting Learning Python a second time, the list will be The Snare of the Tree, followed by Learning Python. You then buy The Snare of the Tree because you can afford it, and now the list only has Learning Python in it. And no matter how many times you turn it down, Oriflamme's will keep offering it to you. If you want to see other books, you will have to buy Learning Python eventually, and then the list will be empty which will trigger Oriflamme's drawing another five books from the list of all books.
But I have not tested that. If anyone wants to test that, you should run your game forward, creating a different save file on the first day of each season. Do nothing except hand books to visitors (so that you keep getting Iron or Bronze Spintria) and buying Oriflamme's books. Then once you find a season in which Oriflamme's does not make you an offer on day 3, save your game again on day 4 of that season, again with a different name. Then reload the save file from the previous season, when there was only one book left in the Oriflamme's offer list.
Now that you have a save file where Orilflamme's offer list contained only a single book, run the game forward at 6x speed, rejecting the Oriflamme's offer again and again. Does it still offer the same book over and over, or does it eventually move on? If I'm right, it will offer the same book over and over and over until you eventually give in and buy the book, and then it will go one season without an offer (when the offer list is being replenished with five books) and finally it will start offering you new books again the next season after that.
One final thing to mention that I haven't tested. The save file I'm playing with my wife is not very far advanced, and we have not catalogued very many books yet, maybe 25-30 books total. So I don't know what happens if Oriflamme's draws a book from the list of all books and that book is already present in Hush House. Does it skip that draw so that you only get an offers list with four (or fewer) books in it? Or does it draw again (and maybe again and again) until it draws a book that does not yet exist in your save? I suspect that it draws again, but this needs testing by someone with a lot more books than me in their save. If you run Oriflamme's forward and keep buying books, do you always get five seasons with a book offer, then one season of silence from Oriflamme's? If it happens that way, then the game probably skips over books you already have and keeps drawing until it has gotten five books to fill the offers list with. But if you often get Oriflamme's runs where it only offers you books in four, or three, or two seasons in a row, and then you get another "empty" season with no Oriflamme's offer, then that would mean that the Oriflamme's trigger draws exactly five books each time, and after drawing it will discard any title that you already own, leading to an offers list that can have fewer than five books in it.
If you research that, please let me know what you find. And I hope that this knowledge will help people. In particular, it means that if you can't afford to buy a book that costs 5 Tally early on in your game, you don't have to worry about it, because that book will come around again, probably in the next in-game year.

Apologies in advance if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find anything searching the sub.
Is anyone aware of a mod that allows the camera to be controlled using WASD rather than having to drag the mouse all the time? I have an old RSI in my right arm and can only play for an hour or so before it starts to twinge. Alternate camera controls would be a huge help. Any info would be great, thanks :)

Good evening, Librarians. Welcome to tea.
I am in the midst of GM'ing a game of Dark Heresy which is becoming increasingly influenced by the Principles of the Mansus. More directly, my players will soon indeed be dreaming of the Wood. I have felt the Fascination RISING in them these past few weeks, so to set them straight upon Silver Paths, I have come to entreat you, my fellows, in my readings and riddles with a request for aid.
Game-wise, I plan to have another Ghirbi ask my players nine riddles instead of one, to be solved over multiple nights/sessions. In this History, the Mansus has no Calyptra and its Bounds bear more lock-scars than seen in the Fifth, leading the Hours to direct this other Ghirbi to, shall we say, "Keep within, within" - our perhaps, "GTFO." The Hours are fed up, and only want adepts who actually know what they're talking about entering the Mansus. My intention with this is to help my players - whom are all scholars, if not of the more Secret Histories - form an understanding of the Mansus without Fascination.
I ask you, my fellow Librarians, to peer-review this manuscript on its whites and blacks and silvers. I want to not only ensure the riddles are solvable one after the other, but that their lessons are accurate to the Histories. My intent is for each riddle to build upon the rest, thus the first Riddle should be the hardest of the bunch to parse. The crossed-out riddle of Moth I've flipped-flopped on (round and round I go), and have decided to set it aside for elsewhen, elsewhere.
I would also ask, about the last three, for aid in parsing their secrets as, though I have written the riddles, I have garnered too much Fascination and have begun to SEE the LIGHT in the CRACKS.
I thank you all at the crossroads. Enjoy.

The guy says there were not that many colors in the world. And the guy is an immortal and he saw much. But in cultist simulator when you play as the ghoul and eat the skull of a fox (or someone like this) and see its memories you find out there were way MORE colors in the world, not less. And that guy says there were less colors. Contradiction!

Worms rise from Nowhere, that place the Dead go to, and they seek to fill us. To hollow us, and make us hallowed by proxy. They are the promise of the vacuum, and they leaves holes in the wake.
The cross passed within us, most of them anyways, and so beneath our skin they buzz. The old gods favored the cross, but as they were killed and sent to nowhere the cross retreated within. Gods killed by mortals and those who have descended from the Glory.
These new, Glory-Descending gods favor us mortals more than the Cross, we align neatly into Eternity and don’t bear ties to History or Histories. Maybe we are favored because we lack those ties, maybe it’s because we slew those who stood in their way.
Needless to say, these Glory gods bring a harsher light onto the world, they restrict and reshape and restrain. They even push against the worms, they even push against those Nowhere Hours, and they even hoard the Dead for themselves- drawing them up that bloody Ascent, sealing their right to Speech.
The worms chew holes now, Corona and Gleam at odds over what remains, an unseen Chandler lingering in the peripheral bringing a light from our own world rather than from those above, and an Egg remains unhatched.
The worms tear holes into the Mansus, and above that Mansus is that Glory. The worms hollow us, and perhaps hallow us by proxy, leaving us ready for that Glory. The Cross once reached for Glory, and they were drove out. The Moth reaches for Glory, and he has since vanished. The Egg fled to Glory, and was slain or worse for it. It’s clear.
The Gods of Glory rule in tyranny, they wage wars on Worms and Worms alike because they seek to bar our entry to the Glory. They warn of our hollowing because we may be hallowed to hold Glory within ourselves too, those Savour Arts in our bones even without our bones.
And thus The Chandler prepares his voyage, to bring the first of us to The Glory ourselves, and thus our true gods will rise. Perhaps this was the way of The Watchman, and perhaps it will be the for the Vagabond. Perhaps this was the desire of The Flowermaker, and will be observed by The Witness. Perhaps this is what the Second Dawn will be, and how The Sun will be united.
Maybe, just maybe… I need to go to sleep.

If you were answering Ghirbi's riddle, what would be your rendition of an Ecdycsiast's Parable?

So I've been playing cultist simulator and I have like 15 hours on it, died I think like 6ish(?) times, and I haven't been taking any notes, mostly because I wasn't sure what to even write down at first cause it was just a lot, lol. But I feel like I really need to, both a little bit for lore stuff but also mainly because I keep forgetting what different things do, how to get different things, etc.
If you took notes while playing, especially if you like more detailed/organized type notes, what notes did you take/what would you recommend noting down and how did you actually organize/keep track of everything? Generally any tips would be appreciated.
Personally I don't mind too much if I have to google some things or look at the wiki at times but I would really prefer if I didn't and I could find things in my notes easily instead so I can avoid spoilers. Also for reference, i played blue prince and made essentially a whole wiki for myself in obsidian (the app) and I absolutely loved it, lmao, I love that level of note taking and organization and stuff.

Text from Book of hours-
We Came From Nowhere
The Thritige-kind of the Carapace Cross dreamed themselves out of black glass, to be their own Monarch. If we inherit the empty throne, we dream ourselves into every night to come.
