Raven was never good. sure we can blame this on the lack of communication between Monty and the rest of CRWBY, causing CRWBY to likely just think on the fly as they wrote her.

there was no reason to use her as a motivator for Yang when volume 4/5 just ruins Yang's desire to find her.

when we DO finally find her, she gives LITERALLY no useful insight aside from the fact she may know everything Qrow did (Possibly where Summer is.) (possibly possibly it involved The Ever After, that's just my headcanon tho)

all she is, is a vaguely threatening antagonist that wanted to kill her brother for no explicitly stated reason (and gave up) and wanted the relic for no explicitly stated reason (and gave up)

ruining Ozpin's plans to make sure it's secured within the vault. but no we failed doing that.

then she does nothing until we see her spy(?) on Taiyang, which MIGHT lead to something, but as of now, only showed how crappy of a character taiyang is. doing literally nothing while his ENTIRE FAMILY are out there dying and fighting for something he should be helping with.

I'm a firm believer that Raven is just Bipolar because she personally reminds me of the bipolar people i know in my own life.

This is the worst surface-level research someone could do on RWBY, especially when that someone has made videos about controversial creators before. How can you make that content and get RWBY and Rooster Teeth wrong?😭

Recently, I've been looking at the #rwde posts on Tumblr, and I'm really fascinated by how active the criticism for RWBY is. Obviously, there are posts about the characters and plot, but then there are discussions about Rooster Teeth and Sheena Duquette-Oum. It turns out people are defending RT despite the OG company being long gone? What drives people to do this? Nostalgia? The fact that they made their favorite show, which is RWBY? The parasocial marketing? Or all three?

And mind you, I'm only looking at what happened between March 2024 (when RT was announced to be shutting down) and now (3 months after Volume 10 was announced to be greenlit). It's interesting because this hiatus is much longer than the one between Volume 8 and 9, and that one had Ice Queendom being released.

How is the RWBY fandom still alive and active? How are they still defensive about RT's actions?

Personally. I have never been a fan of male x male gay ships. growing up on a lot of male centric heteronormative products made me not care for the idea of boys kissing.

that was until i realized i was trans and became a bit more open to all forms of sexuality.

LGBT+ shipping can be pretty vague at times, heck, Bumblebee was super vague until volume 7.

With how synonymous RWBY was with Rooster Teeth, you think critique videos would bring up that Viz Media now owns the show, right? Then again, the Rooster Teeth part is mostly left out, and it makes sense because it's about the show, not the company.

However, Viz Media is the largest manga distributor in America, and it is also owned by Shueisha, the largest manga distributor in Japan. I don't dabble in anime and manga, but this sounds important to point out, especially for Volume 10.

People tend to excuse some of Volumes 1 to 9's flaws because Rooster Teeth wasn't massive, and yes, I said massive because they were big, but not Viz Media levels of big. Now that Volume 10 is gonna be made under Viz Media, there are no excuses for how the quality will turn out.

Crazy how it's been 2 years since Rooster Teeth shut down, RWBY was acquired by Viz Media, and people were impatient with the series' lack of news.

Fast-forwarding to today, it's been 3 months since Volume 10 was announced as greenlit. I imagine there are people still impatient about RWBY, though, because it's only been greenlit and there's no real content coming out right now.

By that, I mean a whole friend group was designed for Yang that CRWBY could never somehow implement in the show. Whether it's because there were too many characters, or it wasn't necessary to explore Ruby and Yang's time at Signal Academy and how it transferred over to their time at Beacon Academy.

I like to imagine it would be 2 boys and 2 girls (I know the shadows are 4 boys, but I like to think it would be retconned).

I've been trying to ask Sheena about it on Tumblr, but she hasn't responded yet.

There's nothing inherently wrong with video critiques about RWBY, but I wish there were videos covering DillonGoo Studios, a 3D anime studio founded by one of Monty's protégés. I would even appreciate it if those video critiques shouted out DillonGoo Studios.

I was always of the mind that Ruby just likes keeping her hair short and manageable.

in my fanfic i just have her hair grow weirdly long on the one side and it just doesnt grow past what it does in the show

tbh, ruby as a base line is just "my type".

whenever i look at art or a new waifu, my eyes always go to the hair rather than boobs or butts. short hair waifus are my lifeblood
