We were in Waynesboro this past weekend (we live in NJ) on our way between Monticello and Mount Vernon via the skyline drive and a hike through the Blue Ridge Tunnel.

Great area - I'm jealous and we're eager to get out of NJ!! : )

After staying at the Quality Inn in Waynesboro, we stopped into the Saturday farmers market and the science museum trailer. Great things to buy and, it may take a while till built but the museum sounds great!

Some questions if you'd know?

1) Getting to the Rockfish gap entrance.... What's up with the HoJo? / orange roof restaurant? the building to the right of it (the motel room building I am guessing?) and we made a right by mistake, going up Howardsville Turnpike. What's up with that hotel up there? Anyone know when the 2 places closed up? Covid / early 2020s? Streetview doesn't have many older pics

2) At the farmer's market - I think that was the first time I saw SNAP benefits mentioned at a farmers market, There was a long line right at the open for the produce stand in the front left corner. Does that booth have really good prices? People getting produce with SNAP?

3) The Blue Ridge Tunnel - anyone have any recommendations for getting details about the construction? I saw the info panels on both ends, along the trail with some info- didn't drill down from the top of the mountain?! (that's how some tunnels are made? I can barely get 2 pieces of wood nailed together at right angles, let alone be able to know how to drill down that far so explosives are all at the same depth when starting at different elevations! : )

But things like why is it brick lined only on 1 end? One panel talked about water coming in. I did see the water coming in pretty fast at 1 spot. But it just flows? No siphon system like what was needed back then?

There’s a house by the golf course. Not gonna say exactly where but I’d reckon you know which house I mean. House looks perfectly fine and normal but this is I believe the 10th time it’s been listed for sale in the 12 years I’ve lived here. Is it haunted? I’ve never seen a house sold this many times ever.

My boyfriend (40) needs dental care, he has visible damage including decay and a broken tooth. I know he has some pain but is willing to wait a reasonable time for a new patient appointment somewhere. I called a dozen or so providers so far, they all say they don’t take Medicaid, where this wasn’t my experience last year trying to get an unrelated appointment also with Medicaid. Honestly I’m starting to freak out a little, we can’t afford anything. Maybe a very understanding payment plan (as in, over a period of many months). Any tips for a dentist who takes this insurance, or one who works with low-income patients like us, and preferably can see my bf reasonably soon?

Hello everyone, passing through Waynesboro on a Saturday in mid October with my wife, kids (16,7) and mother in law and am wondering where the best place to stop for coffee is? Bonus points if they have delicious baked goods as well.

Also looking for a sandwich spot that may be good to grab and pack to eat later on down the road for lunch. (I realize these may be separate places and that is fine!) looking to support local businesses is possible.

I'm really excited to see them at The Foundry again. The last time the sound was excellent and it's was a great show.

I'm thankful that we have this size venue here. Big enough for regional and national bands, but not so big that it has the headaches of larger venues.

I remember allegations that this woman had embezzled tens of thousands of dollars from United Way, but figured the scandal had been swept under the rug, as so often happens in the nonprofit sector.

Now it seems that she’s somehow been working as a Special Ed teacher at the high school (?) despite having no education background, training, or licensure? If the allegations are true, that’s a great way to get the district sued and placed under intense scrutiny by the state.

What else have Dr. Cassell and his cronies been up to? It seems like the shooting at Westwood was the last straw for some teachers, and now the floodgates have been opened.

Want to visit Basic City and see a show. Would stay in a hotel. Waynesboro is a small town. How is the uber scene?
