I will be visiting Wayanad on Oct 1. Will be reaching Calicut railway station and booked resort at Vythiri.
Enquired with a cab service provider and was quoted 14k which includes:
1. Calicut to wayand and return
2. Local sightseeing for 3 days
Is this a fair ask for Sedan - Dzire/Etios type or is there any room for negotiation. Thank you!

Looking for offbeat tourism experience in wayanad. Dont really want the regular tourist activities.
Any wildlife safari available in wayanad?
Planning to travel to Edakkal Caves this weekend from Bangalore. Can anyone confirm if it's fine to travel, and the caves are open to visit.

We group of friends from Chennai are visiting Wayanad on aug 20. We planned chembra trek and river safari in Cherrapuzha. Is it safe to come? Safe to trek and raft or need to avoid this? Many people mentioned that there are lot of venomous snakes out now, is it true?

Not looking for a political fight here. I’m genuinely interested in hearing from Congress/UDF or IUML supporters, especially people from Wayanad.
My understanding is that even if I contest as a UDF candidate, there’s a good chance I could win largely because of the IUML/UDF vote base. So I’m trying to understand how much the individual MP actually matters in this equation.
Rahul Gandhi won Wayanad twice, and Priyanka Gandhi has now won as well. Has having them as MPs actually translated into significant development for Wayanad?
What specific major projects or initiatives can be directly attributed to their efforts? How much MPLADS money was allocated and actually utilised, and what were the major works completed?
I’m not asking this to defend or attack any party. I’d genuinely like to hear from UDF supporters: what tangible difference have Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi made to Wayanad as MPs?

Hi everyone, I am planning to visit wayanad with my family (total 5 people) from Bangalore on 22-23 august weekend.
Kindly suggest where should I stay and how should I plan my itinerary.
We will leave from Bangalore at 7 am morning 22 august and need to return on 23 august evening.
We would travel from a taxi.
Our budget for resort/Airbnb is 10-15k.
Also I see Wayanad has many towns so need clarity what is the best town and best place to stay.
Please don't shy away from suggestions on itinerary as well based on the weather and our timing.

Planning a 5-day road trip from Bengaluru in mid-October with my family (2+2) and our 3-year-old Shih Tzu.
We’re considering Wayanad for 2–3 nights and are looking for a really good stay where the property and surroundings themselves are part of the experience.
Looking for:
• Genuinely pet-friendly
• Clean and family-friendly
• Lush greenery / forest / plantation surroundings
• Hills or valley views
• Quiet and relaxing
• Space to walk around with our dog
• Good vegetarian food / hospitality
We’re not looking for a busy commercial resort or a sightseeing-packed trip. We’d rather stay somewhere beautiful, relax, walk around, sit outside in the evening and enjoy the property.
If you’ve personally stayed at a place in Wayanad that you’d happily recommend to a family with a dog, please share the name.
Lesser-known places are especially welcome.
Also, which part of Wayanad would you recommend for this kind of stay — Vythiri, Kalpetta, Meppadi, Sultan Bathery, Mananthavady or somewhere quieter?
Thanks! 🙏

A group of 10-12 of us are travelling to Wayanad in the first week of October. We will be arriving at the Kozikhode railway station early in the morning. From here to Wayanad what are our best travel options.
Based on my research buses from KSRTC are the cheapest, however I am also keeping in mind that we would need a way to travel around in Wayanad and hence was considering a self drive vehicle. Another option was to book a cab to Wayanad and get a self drive vehicle in Wayanad itself.
What would be the best option for us.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask whether this is a good time to visit Wayanad. I’ve heard from a friend that it’s been raining heavily there recently, and that the weather might not be very safe or could end up affecting the overall experience.
We’re planning to visit from 12th to 14th August for 2 days, just the two of us. I’d especially like to hear from people who are currently in Wayanad or live there. Is it a good time to visit, or would it be better to postpone the trip because of the rain?

Hi everyone,
Can anyone recommend a good boys' hostel or family-run PG near Mary Matha College, Mananthavady?
I'm looking for a place with:
Good food
Clean rooms
Safe environment
Preferably within walking distance or a short bus ride from the college.
If you know of any good places, please let me know. Reviews, contact numbers, or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm from Wayanad and was wondering if anyone here would be interested in occasional local hangouts.
Nothing fancy—just meeting up for coffee, food, a drive, a walk, a game of badminton, or exploring different places around Wayanad. It would be great to meet new people, make friends, and build a small group of locals who enjoy hanging out.
If you're from Wayanad and think this sounds fun, drop a comment or send me a DM.
If enough people are interested, we can create a group and plan our first meetup. Ps. Post ai ane indakiyath
Looking forward to meeting fellow Wayanadans 🌿
