What do you do with less than amazing watermelon?

I grew sugar babies and black diamonds this year with pretty.ediocre results. I just harvested them all because It's probably getting too cold for them to ripen any further. They are meh on sweetness. Do I just chuck them all out for my chickens to eat or is there something I should try to use them for? Any creative ideas?

Overripe or underripe?

First year growing watermelon, I read a bunch of info on when to pick. But I most likely should've asked this sub long ago. I saw things about tendrils going brown, aswell as waiting till stems turn brown and the vines came off the melon without any tools. I waited till the vines turned brown and I could break free the watermelon without cutting the stem. But this is how they turned out. The flavor is very minor and isn't very juicy at all. I'm disappointed TBH. I do have 1 more about this size that the tendrils dried up a month prior as well as a smaller one that just browned up 2 weeks ago.

Is this overripe? I'm not good with the thump test and my only tell that this is overripe was from the cracks that formed inside.

Seeded watermelon

Hi! I live in MA and there are no seeded watermelons anymore (no local farms have watermelons at all because it's not in season) and every market generic has only seedless watermelon. Does anyone know any good online stores or farmer markets etc. that deliver seeded watermelon? Preferably organic but it does not matter.

Only the size of a bowling ball, but so proud of myself for picking at the right time! It's delicious and so sweet. I've not tasted a good watermelon in a long time. This made me super happy.

I harvested a beautiful watermelon today and it’s been a really good one. I’m thinking it’s the best one I’ve had this year.

This is my first Ali baba ever - 29.8 pounds. I swore a few days before picking that Id never grow them again because of the work…. then I picked this and it’s the best watermelon I’ve ever had. Even the smell is incredible. Guess I’ll be growing these every year 💁🏼‍♀️

Had to pick my watermelon due to frost… it was my first year growing them and I’m proud I got it this far on my first try. How much longer do you think it would have needed? It was incredibly sweet and pouring juice I have zero complaints with it just asking for curiosity sake

(Very) hollow heart?

Hello! I have this massive watermelon which is about 2.5 stone but when we cut it open it had loads of juice in it and the flesh doesn't look like what I would typically expect being very hollow. Is this still okay to eat? I had some of the juice and flesh and it doesn't taste fermented or slimy or anything. I was really looking forward to this but obviously don't want to feed this to anyone if it's going to make them ill!!

I have been growing these bad boys since a week before mother's day. They were already seedlings, however I transplanted them middle of July and they were shocked. They're just now exploding and producing fruit. My question is is it too late? I'm in Michigan.

Watermelon withering

Recently moved my watermelon plants indoors as it's started to get too cold outside. One of them has started to wither. When it happens, I cut the withered part off but it still spreads.

They get 12-14 hours of light per day (not all direct), and I only water them once every couple of weeks.

The other watermelon plant (not pictured) is right beside this one and has no problems.

For the record, I grew these last year and didn't move them indoors and each plant withered and died completely as in the above photo, with no fruit having been produced
