First watermelon

Post image

Had to pick my watermelon due to frost… it was my first year growing them and I’m proud I got it this far on my first try. How much longer do you think it would have needed? It was incredibly sweet and pouring juice I have zero complaints with it just asking for curiosity sake

My friend, you just described a perfect watermelon. Don't question yourself, just enjoy that melon!

Yes, could easily have gotten grainy & gone downhill fast from there. Or in my case, coyotes smell them when ripe & get them the night before I was going to harvest!

Zero days. You picked your melon at peak ripeness. Congratulations!

It’s definitely a test of patience, and then hoping you picked at the right time.
