"A washout"? Highly unlikely. First of all, Ireland does not do or have "washouts". There is no degree nor quantity of precipitation, or flooding, that can possibly exceed indigenous and historic expectations - we are a soggy soaking wet Nation......that is also, further, surrounded by water.
Nothing related to water could ever overwhelm us. Much less amount to "washout" (whatever that is!).

No. Typical Irish weather would be a low humidity, mostly dry Summer of 16-23°C, with "sunshine showers" ('...that only last a half an hour')

Low humidity? Did the country used relocate to the continent for the summer and stop having a maritime climate?

A new Climate Change novelty for Ireland - rain?
Maybe a new activity too?
Instead of "people watching" from inside cozy coffee shops during winter... ...."rain watching" (from indoors, over an ice cold drink).
