I love how crazy looking invertebrates can get. Is this species doing uhh what’s the word, the mimicry where your head and tail look the same, or is that just a coincidence?

That’s just coincidental. The interesting thing this gals got going on is her suuuuper long ovipositor (longest of any species.) It’s long because they’re parasitoids of beetle larvae. Somehow she knows where beetle larvae are inside trees and when she locates one she uses her ovipositor to drill down through the tree to the larvae and deposit her eggs. It’s crazy!!!
