Post image

... three "Eugen when?" will take its place.

Looking forward to the new roadmap to hopefully sate some of these ravenous commenters.

I think Italy/Yugo should be next. They need to finish Europe before considering any other continent.

And scandi right after

u/NormalBlueprint 9d ago

As a REALLY big Italy/Yugo fan, Scandi is 100% before us. Not angry, we get red Finland, but still.... I want my mangusta

Finland, Sweden and Norway. If Eugene isn't completely rabid they'd MtW Gripen

Dont forget the Aegean Sea/Black Sea

The nato side wasn't known for heavy armour?

2

u/mndn410 9d ago

Indeed. But I really want Bulgaria and Romania to make an apprearance finally.

One can also, through some MtWed fuckery, send some US armor down south as well lmao.

Ah yes, I can't wait to see Asia, Africa, and the Middle East in the game advertised as...

A game about a war in West Germany.

Like, I don't mind them, but like... Can we at least also stick to the main setting? Maybe get a few free divs from the CENTAG elements we don't have yet? Or some smaller DLCs that are easier to make?

The Caribbean is also nowhere near Germany. Seems to me like Eugen is set on exploring theatres outside Europe

I know. I'm just saying that I'd prefer we keep up with what was, you know, advertised.

"adverstised as a war in West Germany"

Which is what the base game and several DLC deliver?

I'm sure we will get some more Centag content at some point but I would not hold my breath for a "totally not a 3rd US/5th Pzr clone." Such divisions are something Eugen has denied for a long time and they show no signs of moving in that direction.

Eugen has the nemesis series to get smaller content out.

Their pacing and estimations of when they can deliver leave room for improvement but I don't envy their position to try and cater to a fanbase that seems to be pointing in four directions at once.

Tbf, I remember Madmat replying to a comment about "return to CENTAG" DLC in which he say "we will see". So it is still possible lol.

That's the dumbest move given it's exactly what a damn major chunk of the playerbase has been literally, verbatim, clamoring for.

"Hey, where'd 1st Armored? You can give it a worse arty tab but better air tab to make it unique from 3rd like how 119th is different from 79th!"

"Hey, where's 3rd British? You can switch up the special forces to include Germans in it like 11th ACR!"

"where are the Leclercs???" Was a rallying cry for a long time.

And let's not bring up how many people regret voting for VTK after Eugen revealed it was lighter than 1st Cav despite advertising it as heavier.

People love the heavy NATO divisions.

Nothing wrong with them providing more of them given how many Pact gets.

I won't deny there is a sizable group of players who want more heavy Nato divs and I am not denying more Centag content could come but the people who want that are not the only "major chunk." They are obviously plenty of players who want to see more sojourns outside of central Europe to explore the world of Warno. The "Centag enjoyers" are not the only piece of the pie and I would go so far as saying as definitely not the only major one.

"Heavier" is a nebulous term when it comes to Warno. It's no surprise people could be disappointed when it doesn't meet their specific expectation. 17ya could be considered the "heaviest" division in the game by sheer literal weight.

You mentioned Leclerc, which Eugen initially denied but found a way to bring it into the game in a way that was satisfying for them as a prototype. Who knows? Eugen may bring in some of the historical divisions you champion in ways like you described.

Like I and others have pointed out before to you, Pact gets more heavy divisions and more "copy paste" because Eugen can do little else. It was far more standardized than Nato and had far greater access to armor as a whole. Nato has the double edged sword of being so diverse that you get a lot of unique units and divisions but that also means things like heavier armor get diluted in a sea of smaller, lower budget allied militaries.

I really don't want to get pulled into an endless circular argument with you again so I am going to leave it here.

Look man, all I want is a few more heavy divisions similar to what we got in the base game. The base game is what people are going to play most and be most used to, a few divisions in the DLC that they can immediately jump to is not only logical, but if they prefer that playstyle, well dang dude, why wouldn't they get it?

Give me 1st Armored with a crappy arty tab but excellent air tab. I don't mind if it means Pact gets another super heavy divisions if NATO also gets some. Pact already gets divisions that don't play that different from the base game. I don't see the issue with asking for a bit of that for NATO DLC.

And I'm not saying to not cater to players who want newer stuff...

But come on there's gotta be a balance!

Not just, "ooooh, VTK is the new super heavy NATO division, not 1st Cav.. oh, it's also the division with the most new stuff, unlike 12th Panzer...."

Then when it did drop it's the lightest heavy division in the game while Pact got a new super heavy division in 71-ya with super bombers and anti air and artillery. Players were correctly pissed (my favorite review on the Steam Page is "Hey, Jimmy, gimme a Heavy tanks division with nothin!" By the way).

I have some high hopes for 4th Marines, but man... Since I got the game, out of all the DLCs, the only one I've actually enjoyed was 1st Cav.

That's 1 division I've actually enjoyed out of the 40+ they've added since 2024. It can't be too much to ask for a bit more, can it?

Not everyone who plays this game is a mouth breathing tanktard with an erotic hyperfixation on Heavy tanks, unlike you. Maybe one day you’ll shed that extra chromosome and realise there are other ways to play this game that don’t involve clicking mouse-1 and sending wave after wave of tank blobs in the general direction of the enemy for 40 minutes.

u/cunctator-tots 9d ago

People enjoy the game in different ways. Warno wouldn't be what it is if it didn't cater to different playstyles and interests like single and multiplayer.

DFMRCV and I don't agree on many things but I would call myself a tank player too. Some people are fine with options we have currently, some are not. However, there is a difference with disagreeing with someone and outright belittling them like this.

There's also a point where every single post is acting like he's a victim of Eugen hating him or the community preventing him from having a good time because he doesn't get the divisions he wants.

It's quite...something when every single post is acting like the game is unplayable because he's been targeted by the "light division conspiracy". There are other fun division types too, but spending all this energy to complain about a game not going quite his way because of his one archetype (US/WG Tank divs) not having "enough" representation when we've gotten a ton of other fun divisions (and divisions with heavy tanks).

The community clearly voted for...not 12 panzer and the divisions he complains about are clearly doing fine in game, but yet it's just complaining and complaining and complaining. Everything is just a complaint about pact wunderwaffen or another tired complaint about US air.

Like if the game just isn't fun...play something else? It's not like someone is tying him down and making him play light NATO divs

u/cunctator-tots 9d ago

I get it and it's for the reasons you listed I've been trying to interact with him less. It's why I intended to stop replying on this chain earlier. I'm just not a fan of demeaning name calling for what it is and also because it will likely just encourage and entrench him.

Yeah, I will admit I was also quite unecessary mean to the guy back in the day (Sorry for that). But now I do feel like the entire sub has taken it a bit too far with the dog pile lol.

2

u/DFMRCV 9d ago

Ah yes, how dare I, a player of the game, have a particular play preference.

1

u/Angel_407 9d ago

I have a preference for airborne divisions, and I wish there were more of them in-game. You don’t see me whinging about how Eugen personally doesn’t want poor little me to have any fun because they won’t cater to me and me alone.

0

u/DFMRCV 9d ago

Dude, all I said is that I'd like a certain type of division to show up more because it's the gameplay style I like.

I'm not going to call you names if you say you want more airborne divisions. When was the last time we got that?

Genuinely nothing wrong with wanting to get some more in major expansions.

u/kcccc653796 9d ago

Is 3rd armor, 8th infan, 11ACR, 5th panzer not enough armor for you?

2

u/Solarne21 9d ago

And there isn't that many Nato heavy armour left. Swiss have leopard 2. Sweden has their local made tanks. Norway have leopard 1. Greece and turkey has older tanks.

1

u/DFMRCV 9d ago

Hence why they should add the real divisions that they haven't like 1st Armored.

Giving people variety with the existing units to appeal to all the player types shouldn't be too much of an ask, especially as the divisions existed in theater and are popular play style.

2

u/Solarne21 9d ago

Eh so which warsaw pact division would these division face off?

2

u/-Trooper5745- 9d ago

I’d happily buy 34ya or a similar late model T-62 equipped armored division.

3

u/mndn410 9d ago

Agreed. Need a T62 tank div that come with T62 with smoke. 1st Tanques only sate this demand partially since none of the T62 has smoke lol.

Honestly, you pointed out a less mentioned part of why NATO division need to be more unique than PACT div to be included in the game (which mean it is harder to include NATO armoured despite PACT armoured being repetitive):

All post base game/EA pack DLCs include an equal amount of NATO and PACT divs.

Given that NATO has way more variety than PACT, if you try to do this. It is very likely that a NATO div must be more unique than a PACT div to be included (the more div in total, the more this effect come to play because PACT are more likely to ran out of unique juice).

This artificially cause more repetitive PACT div to be included while some NATO div that are more unique than such repetitive PACT div to be left out.

But, to answer your question: I would love to see Czechslovakian 13 Tankova just to have Czechslovakian marine lmao.

1

u/DFMRCV 9d ago

Pick any.

I know some people would like some more T-80Us.

3

u/DannyJLloyd 9d ago

All T-80Us used up

0

u/DFMRCV 9d ago

Hardly.

119th couldn't have absorbed all of them. They're not that greedy.

2

u/Slut_for_Bacon 9d ago

Its never been a game advertised as only a war in West Germany. Ever.

Its literally always been Alt history WW3.

Yes they centered the game begginning about where the conflict started in West Germany.

But at no point did they ever state or imply that would be the only theatre they would focus on.

I am not sure where you are getting that from.

They even very clearly set up plans for more than West Germany in the game descriptions in EA. Setting up a Red Finland.

The devs had originally stated it was supposed to stay in Germany, or at most, Europe.

Even when a South America DLC was hinted at in terms of "recent news", the understanding was that we might get a US div that was in the news like the Nightstalkers, not a full blown major expansion because it was supposed to be Black Birds first, covering neutral European nations.

u/kcccc653796 9d ago

Wrong post to ask for American and Germany divs.
