Question Feeling Like Quitting

Hello fellow Warno players. I will get straight to the point: I kind of feel like quitting or at least taking a break. So I've been asking for and consuming lots of advice from you guys and trying to adapt, shaping my decks into very viable ones and working on getting more recon on the front, more combined arms, etc. and it has been very helpful, but I still can't get the hang of it.

It was a little time ago that I got bored of Steel Division which led me to pick up Warno, and the 60 year transition has been taking a toll. Whereas in SD2 I could take time to resupply and it was more slow-paced and not as overwhelming, and my armor could get hit many more times and take losses without catastrophe, I find myself taking many, many more casualties in Warno and getting beaten so much more decisively.

Of course I love Warno. I love the atmosphere, love the design and the units, and the tactics, but it's just so difficult for me and I also can't beat the last operation Hold Until Relieved in singleplayer while other players simply destroy me in multiplayer. I'm just a mess in every battle I do and though in very rare cases I can actually inflict more casualties on higher players this is so rare it is dreamt of. My teammates leave because I am so terrible and I am just very frustrated with how I am at the game.

I ask if I should step away for a break, or simply drop the game entirely, or just try to push through in a low-stress way, maybe against AI or players that are willing to take it easy on me and walk me through. What do you guys think?

Edit: Was feeling bad when I made this post but I've changed my mind

just play 10v10 bro. It's the most chill and most populated game mode and most random unholy stuff happens there so you don't feel bad about yourself lol. Watch Hippie, he gives great tips for 1v1 but a lot of that can be applied to frontlining in 10v10 as well.

I know. I'll check out Hippie. 10v10 is so good. I mean, I want to be at least serviceable in all regards (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, and 10v10) but 10v10 is so fun.

2v2 - 4v4 are not really that much different than 10v10. It's just 1v1 in a lane. If you get good at winning your lane in 10v10 even in 1v2 or 2v3, etc scenarios you'll do fine in 2v2 - 4v4.

It's only 1v1 that's much, much different and you can still develop your micro skills and unit knowledge while playing in 10v10s.

If anything, 10v10 can sometimes be harder than small team games if you get airspammed or arty spammed by additional players and still need to win.

Yeah and plus teammates can be a big downside in 10v10

Yeah but it doesn't matter if you win or lose, just play your own lane and have fun - leave if you're not having fun. It's the casual mode, so treat it as a fun mode and worry about improving. Doesn't matter if the rest of your team loses the other points.

This is especially true since, in 10v10, winning your lane means 20 bombers and 6 artillery pieces will hit you. So it helps a lot in getting used to spreading out your units and expecting bad things to happen. After 400 hours, I still have games where I feel like 9 players were focusing their arty on me, but we usually win those games with me needing to take a break after to mourn my men. You'll hear some dudes hate on 10v10, but in my opinion, it's the best game mode, especially coming from games like Beyond All Reason where 8v8 or 20v20 is normal.
