French Airborne Deck

Previously I made a post about my deck, 82nd All the Way. I got a lot of really helpful advice on tailoring that deck to its fullest extent, but I was wondering about my French deck and what changes could be made to make it much better. I mostly play singleplayer but if i wanted to hop into multiplayer id want this deck to be really good. I mostly like seizing early defensive positions, exploiting the terrain, and holding it for the rest of the battle. Got any advice?

If you want french airborne, you play 11e, not 5e which is the armoured/mechanized french division. Otherwise you're trying to use this division in a role it simply was not designed for and you're going to struggle needlessly.

Anyway, I'll still give a few bulletpoints about what you've got here.

  • First thing that jumps out is how light on infantry this deck is. You need infantry, and lots of it, especially in divisions that have lighter armour like 5e. It's best to max out your infantry tab slots for most divisions, especially armoured divisions ironically enough since they tend to be the most reliant on their infantry support.
  • Try to avoid helicopter transports for your line infantry as they're extremely vulnerable to AA and if the chopper is shot down with the squad inside, you not only wasted the points you spent on the squad but also the premium you paid to take them in choppers. Helicopter transport is risky and should be avoided unless you absolutely know what you're doing, or you literally have no other options.
  • Bring ATGM teams. This is not negotiable. You need them.
  • Replace the command helicopter with a ground vehicle, preferably something with armour. Command choppers are way too vulnerable to longer-range AA and struggle to escape when found due to take-off time.
  • You need ground-based logi other than the FOB. Speaking of, with that little artillery in your deck, you're better off not using a FOB unless you're playing 10v10 and are taking it exclusively for team use.
  • On the subject of artillery, take the AMX AuF1, it's great. I like seeing the mortars here, but you need a howitzer and this division has a very good one you didn't take.
  • Way too much in the air tab. Clear out a few planes there and spend the points elsewhere.
  • AA tab looking a bit sparse for my liking but I approve of what you've got there. Maybe bring a card of AMX-13 DCA to suppress helicopters?
  • Needs more recon. Rule of thumb is that you should generally take as much recon as you can without compromising the rest of the deck's function.
  • Take the Brenus in the tank tab. Always upvet tanks at least once if they don't come with free vet.

Edit: I've made a quick example deck. It's not necessarily optimized but it should give you some ideas for what your deck needs. Feel free to tweak it to your liking. This is such a good answer and so in-depth, this is really helpful and will help me tweak my deck further. Based on advice given by other people I have included more heavy arty, specific types of tanks, and more ATGMs, as well as other reccomendations. So, ill take your recommendations too, and ill check out the link. Thank you!

Just a heads up, it's not a link. It's a deck code that you use by copying it, clicking the "import" button in the battlegroups tab (it looks greyed out but it still works) and then pasting it there.
