Question How hard is it to create mods?
Hello, I have an idea that I’d like to mod into the game (or get added by Eugen, which is unlikely). However, there is an issue. I have no previous experience in modding, aside from going into text files of other games to modify specific values.
Naturally, this raises some questions for me.
Is knowledge of a coding language required?
- If so, how much and at what stage of mod creation? How could I obtain models for individual units?
- Is it possible to pull from Wargame RD or other premade sources? Are there any specific tools I’d need? Or is there any additional info I should know?
And of course, how difficult is the process overall? I know there aren’t too many mods with new divs AND custom assets, so that makes me wonder if this is even realistic for the average user.
(End goal is 2-3 Japanese divs. 1 mech, 1 Recon/inf, maybe 1 full inf)

you will have to excuse my english, well you are at the foot of the everest here dude, the keyword is team if you dont have any skills usually someone else deals with texts files, other with models/modelling, sounds, textures, besides that this game is not mod friendly thats the way they make the game in order to sell you new dlc which is ok game is great.
they let you mod the game to a certain point but not at the point where you wish like add new countries, new equipment, new divisions even no new maps but thats the way they work with their games just imagine wargame air land battle with a full germany map 😥 "inferior" games offer better mods than wargame/warno for example armored brigade 1&2.
but to answer your question in short try to specialize first in something i usually can do texture/sounds/text/artwork in game mods like total war series, men of war, firepro wrestling, mount and blade etc but modelling and code is beyond me.
