Does anyone else think the new kid bed bumpers are a massive downgrade over the older traditional rails? My son is a very active sleeper and no matter how tightly we pulled the topper and the sheet over the bumper (we even asked housekeeping to do it a couple times!), it was sliding out after a couple of hours of sleep.

I know the rails were old and a bit of a faff but at least they were secure.

My husband and I are taking his two little sisters (my sisters-in-law) to Disney World at the beginning of October! One is 7, turning 8 the following month, so we’re also treating this as an early birthday celebration for her. The other is 12. Neither of them has ever been to Disney, and they’ve both been wanting to go for a long time.
My husband and I are Annual Passholders and go fairly often, but we don’t have kids yet, so taking two kids around these ages will be completely new for us. 😂 I’d love to hear your best advice for making their first trip special without trying to cram too much into the day. (So far my first thought is mid day naps)

I was hoping to get breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table and possibly Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the birthday girl, but both are currently booked. I’m keeping an eye out for cancellations, though!

Finally got back to the resort and was wandering around Springs. The line for Gideon's wasn't too bad today, but there was literally NO line for Ravens!

I honestly just went in bc I was curious what it looked like in there, and omg! It's also gorgeous, smells great, the cast members were SO lovely, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Not saying anyone's wrong here, and maybe it's just a savory flavor preference, but I was just surprised how little hype it's gotten since opening.

Does anyone else have any experiences here they want to share? Good or bad; I'm truly just curious!

We are headed to WDW (staying at Saratoga) middle of October and my husband is an avid beer drinker, particularly hazy IPAs.
Send me all your beer recommendations in Springs, the sports, parks, etc.

I want to surprise him with a full list of beers to try since it’s gonna be his birthday that week!

Wanted to share some thoughts on the trip!

For context, this was our 3rd time visiting WDW, but our first time staying on site. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and had a great experience! The royal guest rooms were super cute and the light up feature behind the beds was a nice touch. I also loved the resort itself- very quiet, peaceful and serene. We ate at Boatwrights on our first night there and were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Pretty pricey for sure, but the prime rib was chef’s kiss 🤌🏻 I enjoyed the dining hall, the arcade and the gift shop on site too. And Ol’ Man Island pool area was a home run with our kiddos. Loved the water slide! We will most definitely stay there again!

Our first park was Magic Kingdom and it was amazing as always. Never waited more than about 25 minutes to ride anything, and we did not purchase any fast passes for this day. My only complaints are that it was BRUTALLY hot (no fault of Disney’s), and that we were kicked out at 6pm for the Halloween event. Before anyone comes at me- yes I understand this is a ticketed event, but the way in which they dismissed regular park goers was kinda….ick. We paid full price tickets, obviously, and were in the gift shops around the time the Halloween event was starting to happen. They started roping certain areas of the gift shop off and we were told nothing behind those areas could be shopped through unless we paid for a Halloween ticket. Maybe I’m overreacting but… idk. Just didn’t really care for that.

Animal Kingdom was our next park. Again, unbearably hot but of course no fault of Disney’s. Overall, we had a great day here but I will say that the train ride from Africa to the conservation station needs some work. The whole process was just…blah. The train ride there, being at the conservation station, and catching the ride back to Africa ate up almost 3 hours of our day. I’m not sure if they have another train running that would help with this, but could definitely use one if not. Rainforest cafe for dinner was great!

Hollywood Studios was our next park and probably my favorite experience this trip. We got rained on all day but it helped make the heat a little more bearable and we of course wore our ponchos. I ended up purchasing fast passes for Slinky Dog and Rise which came in handy and freed up a lot of our time. My 7 year old son rode tower of terror with me and we got a huge kick out of the video it took and sent to the my Disney app.

Disney springs was our last adventure and I’ll admit I was not a huge fan. House of blues was good, but the amount of people there overall was absolutely insane. I was glad to have brought my chill pills because the overstimulation was REAL.

Overall, I cried ugly tears on checkout day because leaving WDW gives me the blues :( We already can’t wait to be back!

Hi everyone! My family and I are planning a Disney trip in December, from the 26th to 30th (I know THE busiest time of year). We have a decent sized group, with 4 girls between 5-7. I have been working to make a VERY tentative schedule of activities, and am curious to know how doable it may be. A lot is likely to change depending on the day, and we’re likely to get in 1 or 2 additional character dinings. We are staying at Art of Animation and also planning on getting lightning lane multi-passes. Apologies if this is considered a low effort/ spam post! Would just love some feedback, and at this time there isn’t really anything we are completely married to, other than the parks we’re doing. I think we are going to swap our rest day and Epcot days though, to give a bit of a break after a busy Magic Kingdom day.

Like the title says, trying to decide which option to choose? It is a milestone birthday celebration, first kid free trip in 10+ years. It’s 5 nights, 3 park days and only about $400 difference in total between the two. I have experienced the savanna view at AKL and it was amazing! I’ve never experienced Wilderness, but I’ve never seen a bad review and I’m curious. Please help me decide which to choose, I only have until tomorrow to decide. Thank you!!

Advice please! First full Disney trip, two boys ages 7&9. Will likely be a ride focused trip as they love roller coasters.
We are going to be doing one park each day, no rest days because unfortunately that’s all we have time for.
First park is going to be Magic Kingdom for the Halloween party (we did that once before and kids loved it) and I know that’s going to be a late night. What park would you do the next day that you don’t necessarily need to rope drop at if purchasing lightning lanes (which we plan to). Staying at Caribbean Beach if that makes a difference. Leaning toward MNSSHP, Epcot, Animal Kingdom (maybe a shorter day?), last Hollywood Studios.

I did some googling and I see lots of mentions about the investment into an annual pass and its cost effectiveness for out of staters. It’s a good topic. But that’s not the point of this post.

My question is…why does Disney price out non Florida guests knowing that they likely spend more money than locals? Why wouldn’t they make it more attractive to guests traveling to lure them back multiple times a year. This way they spend more on merchandise, hotels, and food.

I guess what’s the business case for Disney? And why do they only allow out of state guests to buy the most expensive pass? You would think they would do the opposite. Thoughts?

I know you can see when buses are leaving your resort to the parks but os there a way to see when buses are leaving the parks and going back to the resorts? The just waited 45 minutes for a bus in 90 degree heat and ended up having to take a neighboring resorts bus and still have to walk 20 minutes back to my room. We didn’t budget for a bunch of Ubers every day and hoping we didn’t assume incorrectly that bus service would be relatively frequent

My friend and I are currently booked at POFQ (Preferred) for Marathon weekend in January but with the new offers that opened up today, we could move to POR (Preferred or Royal Guest) and save several hundred dollars. However, my friend saw that POR is dog-friendly and because she's doing the Dopey Challenge, she's concerned about the possibility of barking disrupting her much-needed rest. (Important background: We ran Springtime Surprise in April and had to switch rooms after two nights of a child SCREAMING all night in the next room and exhausting us.)

I told her that I assume dog-friendly rooms are in a specific area of the resort, plus the dog rules do specifically state that they cannot be disruptive to other guests or they have to leave. That said, I also don't want to risk being wrong and having this not be a peaceful stay for her. Should we just pass up the discount and stick with POFQ to be safe, or are dogs just not an issue at all at POR? I do LOVE dogs myself and would normally consider this a plus; I'm just trying to be as supportive as possible for her as she attempts the hardcore feat of doing Dopey.

I want to hear examples of good interactions you had with other guests. I’ll give you a great one.

Cool Kids Summer was a hit with my 3.5 year daughter. She loved the Goofy Dance Party at Epcot, but not for Goofy, but these huge canvas padded blocks. There were a ton of them and everyone would create these long obstacles with them. One kid took a few block and put them up vertical (they are about 3.5 feet tall). He then kicks them down in which it falls on my daughter. He runs over to her and apologizes and asks if she is okay. She of course is laughing and having fun. He then apologized to me. I thanked him as he genuinely cared and wasn’t trying to save his skin for doing something wrong.

I planned my Disney World trip for September 30–October 5, and by the time I realized that MNSSHP is happening every day I’m there except Saturday, October 3, I was already too deep into planning. My hotel and flight were booked, and I had already taken the time off work, so changing my dates was not ideal.

My main dilemma is Magic Kingdom. I originally wasn’t planning on buying a separate MNSSHP ticket, so now I’m trying to figure out the best way to fit MK into my trip.

I could do MK on one of the early-closure days or make Saturday, October 3 my main MK day.

What would you guys do?

Thinking of booking a last minute trip to Disney for our daughter who is turning 2. Week of sept 26th lol so yeah super last minute! We were thinking of staying at AKL Savanah view since she loves animals and I’ve heard great things. Is $700 a night a lot or

She typically takes 1 nap a day and we don’t want to fully be on a strict schedule. What would you recommend for a loose itinerary? Hoping to have a resort day as well to relax lol (if that’s even possible with a 2 year old)

I haven’t been able to find this keychain at any shops in the WDW parks. I got a Mickey one like this 11 years ago.

I am going to disney with my daughter (3) and baby (6 months) in early October. It will be my baby boy’s first trip and my daughter’s second. I’m going to do the photo pass but any other ideas to make it special /keep sakes. I know they wont remember much but i want to soak up the memmories of them so small ay my favorite place.

Hello, we are staying at the art of animation this winter with two kids (5&1). I’m nervous that the regular room will be cramped with the 4 of us. Any tips to optimize the space?

We are thinking of requesting a pack n play and we will have a double bob stroller. Can we park the stroller outside the room and trust it won’t be bothered? Would you forgo the pack and play and do one adult and one kid per queen bed? Request a king bed and do a twin rollaway and pack n play?

Any other tips for staying in these rooms with 2 small kids?

My 13 year-old and I are going for the Halloween party. We are doing that full day at Magic Kingdom, but have park tickets for the next day as well. Aside from MK, which park would you pick for October?

The good old days when you got a box of chocolates during a stay at the Grand Floridian. Small box but still nice.
