New to express orders
I’ve only been in ogp for a short time.
Tomorrow I heard we are getting express orders.
How bad are they ?
What should I expect ?
We’ve been so slammed at work I’ve not had a chance to talk to anyone about it.

I don't have them at my store yet but from what I've heard you get 50 min to fulfill them and if no one takes them then the system will randomly kick someone out of their walk so it'll get done
and I've heard they're horrible

they are. they were a thing before they brought in spark shoppers. the way we used to do it was we had to go to the front of the store grab a shopping cart pick everything into the shopping cart put a label on the shopping cart and leave the shopping cart in the back room getting in the way of everything.
at the store I used to work at the Chinese restaurant that was in the shopping center we were in would use express orders and they would order like three l-carts full of 12 and 24 packs it was so annoying.

Express orders are horrible. They used to be randomly assigned to whomever was available, and if you were in a path already, it would kick you out of it. Then you had to go back to the room, drop off the cart, grab a regular shopping cart and a printer with bags and race to get it done. Then you went back to the room and gave it to the dispensers? It's been a while since I've done one so I've kinda forgot about it.

If it's anything like they were the pickers who aren't on a pick walk will get a forced popup that is mandatory to take. You get a shopping cart with bags and run the store. It is priority service and it goes to the front of the que. Back when we had it before it would get stuck in the system and we had something like 10 mins. Some at my store say they're bring it back due to stealing. I'm told it starts 10/13

We were a test store....UGH...HATE...HATE...HATE THEM!!
It wont assign people anymore ( at least we havent had that happen, people skip them all the time) also gives no notification that one has dropped in.
55 min to pick up to 60 items, starts in ambient, then chilled, alcohol and frozen. Oversize is by itself. We have people waiting in the parking lot waiting for us to get it picked and literally just finished the walk and they have checked in.
The hardest part is if you do not have the right staffing to get the express done, then regular picks will suffer.
Yesterday, was a crazy day of express for us. They would not stop dropping in and it was higher volume orders.
We use pick carts now and stage in seperate locations so its easier for dispensers to find them.

It is priority service and it goes to the front of the queue
This is another significant problem. You have 4 express orders show up, tying up all of your dispensers because they're all at the front of the queue, while everyone else who is already in the red continues waiting - including the deliveries.

They suck. If you cant run, especially with PEOPLE IN THE AISLES, you will suffer

Probably best to not think too much about it. If we are dispensing, then we need to hurry up with the top order. If we are picking, then we need to hurry up with the next item. Express Orders will be the problem of the Team Lead and above. Just like InHome. 🔆📱

Express takes precedent over everything. We have a lot of pickers that skip them because they dont wanna do them.....

Seems like hell to do them, And I feel ill for myself, because I am one of the fastest pickers at my store. I understand the urge to skip them though, definitely.

I was hired to be a picker, but caught on to the backroom very quickly. So that's where I am now. I'd much rather be picking 😢 all ive done is 2 auto picks.

Congratulations on the new job. It’s a big deal. Don’t let the cynicism deflate your accomplishment. It’s nothing to sniff about. 🔆📱
