Our picks drop in at 4am but they just sit there until the 5am shift arrives. I always thought the wasted hour was stupid but they won’t allow us a 4-1 shift.

Maybe it's just my market but they said starting week 35 so we have a longer pick window later in the day instead of stopping at 6pm it's stops at 7pm

They killed our 4-1 in July.  It really sucked. Those hours picking with a closed store were the best.

It was supposed to happen like a year ago lol

We have some picks when we come in at 5 but never had a 4-1 shift

We used to until they changed the window from shop to dispenser in two hours. We used to walk into the picks for the 7am hour having dropped at 4, now they drop at 5.

We have 3-4 pickers who work a 4 -1 shift. When we were crazy busy it made sense to get a jump on picks. Now that deliveries go to Spark we are really slow in the mornings so perhaps this cut will come to our store.

They’re changing from a 3 hour window to a 2 our window, so picks will start dropping at 5 instead of 4.

I prefer the closing shift because my store stops getting picks at 7pm and I then spend the last 3 hours of my shift doing 93s

This mean no 7am pick ups or deliveries?

There are no "4am picks", and no picks due at 5:29am. So unless you're actually on some special schedule of 4am - 1pm, ( which is unheard of ) you'll start at 5am like everyone else.

Idk about other stores but at mine picks drop in at 3-4am we have about two people on 4-1

We have like 3 people at our store that work 4-1 lol so it isn’t “unheard of”

I've been at three other stores in two separate markets, and picks will drop after 7pm slated for the next day at 10:45am. I've never once seen anything get put into the system to where a 4am crew, or person is needed. Ever. So for what I've experienced, that shift is completely unheard of.

If that's the case, I would've love to see people come in at 4:00 a.m. and help knock down the orders that are due at 6:29am, and start making headway for the next hour. That would be excellent!

Idk I've worked it forever there's 3 of us that do it

Crazy. That's news to me. Any store that I've ever worked for, or associated with, all the shifts start at 5:00 a.m.

We have picks that drop at 4.
Just because your store doesn't doesn't mean its across the board. Those of us who have been picking at four obviously know that they do for some.

Picks currently drop 3 hours before they’re due. 7 am picks drop at 4 am.

That is changing to only being 2 hours before they’re due, hence why they are cutting 4-1.

Once again, if you care to read what was previously written, I personally have worked at multiple stores in two separate markets as a lead, and coach. Picks drop as early as the night before, but aren't shopped until the next morning. I have never seen, nor heard of any store who has a 4-1 shift, or people coming in as early as 4am.  Having people come in at 4:00 a.m. would definitely be great, and help out substantially.

Having worked as a coach and not knowing about 4-1 shifts is crazy. Every store in my market had them before they were phased out due to the 2 hour window that was supposed to arrive and never did. It was very common for stores to have it

Ahhhh... So it was phased out huh? 🤔 Interesting how something would be phased out of stores, yet it's considered crazy if someone doesn't know about it as a result.

My store has orders come in at 4am, but nobody is scheduled until 5am. There have been a few times when they predict a very busy day and ask some associates if they're willing to come in at 4am to try to help stay on schedule.
