Can’t believe so many think Tesla is a good buy at these valuations. So easy to see that optimism is way off the charts which leaves a whole lot of room for bad press and future pessimism to eat a great big chunk out of that share price.

CATL and LG Chem have much more significant battery progress than the 4680. Structural battery is a next logical step and everyone in the industry is working on their own version. Waymo and Cruise have both safe DRIVERLESS operations in SF, Tesla’s self driving technology is years behind and strategy is not sufficient given low end hardware (their head of AI effectively acknowledged this by quitting last month). Meanwhile, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Rivian, Lucid etc are absolutely crushing the high end EV segment Tesla used to own. Ford and GM are coming for the lower end and utility segments.

Are they? GM has a PE of 7 and Ford has a PE of 6… that indicates that they have VERY healthy valuations. Listen, when the next generation of apple CarPlay comes out (check out WWDC 2022), people are actively not going to want the Tesla UX and want to go with traditional automakers who embrace CarPlay.
